hii.. P.S. the views below are purely mine.. and it varies on the ability of the person..

since u've just started the preparation.. so u need to work very hard..

see english takes time.. it cannot be learnt overnight.. so i wud suggest to read articles and editorials daily.. u can also use previous mocks to practice english..

for quant and DI.. first of all complete all ur basics ASAP.. get familiar with all types of questions in DI and reasoning..

ten start taking sectional tests and full lenght mocks.. also keep on taking the regular mocks of institute to get an all indian percentile score and ranking..

and do not take more tan 2 mocks or at max 3 besides the mock on sunday..

the more important thing is to analyse the mocks.. a complete anaylses takes around 5 to 6 hrs for one mock.. so start investing more time.. do a thorough analysis of each section.. check wich question u cudnt solve and wht were the reasons for it.. was it pressure or conceptual knowledge.. ten take on the learnings in the next mock..

unless u analyse a mock completely.. do not take the next mock as simply taking another mock without analysing the previous one does not solve the purpose.. u wud surely see improvements in your mock scores.. and finally in CAT u should give ur best.. it is a different ball game.. it all depends on how u perform on tat day.. so wen u go for CAT.. jst keep ur cool and never let the pressure come on you.. and do not think about your mock scores and stuff lyk i jst prepared for hardly 2 mnths so wud I able to crack it or not.. just go with a cool mind without any notions and think that no matter wht you have to give ur best..

so all the best for preparations and CAT

cheers

the difference varies across the institutes, while giving calls many institutes do not give weightage on experience while some others do......
i general you can except almost insignificat difference between a fresher and a guy with one years experience at the time of short listing for interviews

hi please be more specific when u ask questions this way it helps us to answer in better way.. there are 1000s of MBA college in india which m afraid we cant list down..also nowhere u have asked whether u r taking about IIMs..or top 20 or smething like that... which can give us spread about ur pref of colleges

anyways nowadays work-ex pref has seen an upward trend.. mostly all IIMs.. specially K has gven more weightage to work-ex.. Indore on other side is more about freshers

apart from IIMs.. IMI ,IMT-G the work ex helps.. in IITs also work-ex are given due weightages nowadays..specially IIT B,D,Kgp

Re: CAT 2008 for Working Professionals - 09-10-2008, 12:17 AM

life's really being a b***h right now! I have a project roll-out for 10th Nov and the damn thing is still in its pre-conceptualization stages...so that effectively translates into ...cancelled chhutis ( like todays) , early morn wake -up calls from RM and spending 3 extra hours post 6:30 pm to get a stupid presentation slide right....suddenly the entire org has to swing into action ..arrghhhh
This is worse than my worst nightmare...

some things are seriously not meant to be!..and im getting clear indications that becoming a post grad is one of them !!

Sucks...
