Since past few days I am not able to concentrate on my studies. I am having an ambivalence scenario. Thoughts come in mind that I should now join the office & prepare while working. What put me in worry is if going back to office will be OK or I will ruin my chances to secure a good percentile.
I feel that I should join the office & make a schedule. I have to be discipline till my exams. Also I am thinking to take leave from 1 Nov. or 5 Nov. to Nov. 16.
Please give me some valuable suggestion, if any. If I am thinking right or there is something wrong.

Hi,
Taking leave this early is certainly not a gr8 idea. Taking leave 2-3 weeks before CAT would be better. For the time being whatever be ur schedule in office u can always take out 1-2 hrs daily, even if that is not possible u can stretch somewhat in weekends.
Even if you don't wanna join the office .. just don't feel guilty. be normal .. study as per ur normal schedule and always keep in mind last 2-3 weeks when u will really have to work hard .. prepare urself mentally for it .. no excuses then.
You r getting a pretty decent score in ur mock cats .. believe me u r on track bro ... don't loose it.
Plan ur vacations well .. and EXECUTE it

Staying back late in the offfice has now become ritual..Feel like giving my papers..not able to decide..
How you guys manage..
pour in your thoughts guys..

Don't don't don't ever think of putting ur papers .. that is not the solution. You still have got quite some time ... and this time is enough if not more for even a starter if he is sincere.
Regarding ur scores .. I would say not bad.. mocks are made to commit mistake so that u don't repeate them in actual test. only ur mental seriousness towards taking CAT will add 10%ile to ur score. so u will reach to 80-90%ile. Above that some slogging is needed ... take leave from the office in the last 2-3 weeks. I was also getting a very similar score in AIMCATs. Whenever you feel low after seeing ur mock results just say the following sentance to urself ..
"I will give my best when it will matter the most" ... believe me it works. The believe in yourself can do wonders to you ....
So don't get disheartened by the mock scores ... stay focussed towards ur goal.. stay sincere with ur work and stay regular with ur efforts.

Hi All
I am visiting this thread for the first time. I am not a good mock scorer but I know I can do it.
I have one query.
My query is does your final cat score revolve around your mock score or you can make a difference in your score in those remaining days?

it varies from person to person...
we have stories here on PG of ppl who have been scoring around 70s in the mocks and went out to score 98+ in actual cat...
you can have a look at this link : http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/cat-an...ml#post1162354 (CAT 2008 Aspirants)

see the mock scores give u an indication of ur performance. but they in no way tells u tat wht wud be ur actual CAT score.. i knw ppl personally who used to score around 80s in mocks and cracked the CAT.. but yes they were determined and not at any time got baffled by their mock scores..
so always keep ur confidence high.. the mocks are for practice and learning.. no matter wht ur scores in mocks are.. CAT is a different ball game.. so at the end what matters is how one perform in CAT..
all the best for mocks and the final mock, that is, CAT
cheers

Hi Pooja,
nihilist1986 and sarvshwet have put it in a very apt manner that it all depends on how you perform on the D-Day..
your question is... does your final cat score revolve around your mock score or you can make a difference in your score in those remaining days?
On the risk of being a bit philosophical i wud say..You need to ask this question to yourself more than to any1 else..Whether or not you can do it depends on you..You have actually answered this yourself.. You CAN make a difference in your scores in these remaining days...All you have to do is believe in yourself.....and u said u do believe that you have it in you..so chak de phatte...The CAT is there to be belled...
Hope this helps..
Cheers,
RD.

Hi Pooja,
I would only like to say that Mocks are there to make mistakes, learn from them and don't repeate them. I personally never used to get more than 75%ile in TIME mocks ... but on the D-Day I managed to score 97.89 (QA-99.33, DI-94.89 and in VA-66.10 (Somehow screwed in VA)).
So don't ever let ur mock scores loose ur focus!!!
Cheers!!!

Welcome to PG!!! Just a few pointers for you....
Please don't post just to thank someone. You have a Thank button below the post, you can use that.....
Also whenever you're replying to a long post, use the "Quote" button instead of the quick reply one and only keep the relevant part of the post. This would save a lot of scrolling time
