hi,
arun sharma is a good book, a genuine concept builder...but it needs some thing else to supplement it...
you must also go through the previous year mock test's QA section to get a better insight on what kind of problems you will face in the actual exam...

I think it should be sufficient..... The concept explanation part is done quite well in it but you'll probably find some questions lacking explanations..... But for the understanding part, I think it's really good. You can also try Trishna for QA. Heard that it's quite good as well, but didn't use it

Re: CAT 2008 for Working Professionals - 11-05-2008, 05:11 PM

Hello everyone.
CAT 07 had been one hell of a ride for me.
After scoring 99.43%ile (A high)
I received calls from only 2 IIM's (A low)
Had a decent outing as far as IIM I interview was concerned (A high)
And a very bad day as far as IIM K interview was concerned (A low)
Results were out and was rejected by IIM K (A low)
But the was still some hope as i was in the waitlist of IIM I (A high)
All hopes got shattered as i got a waitlist no. of 272 (The lowest point)
But then, i have now gathered myself and am preparing in full swing for CAT '08.

Hope i will be of some help in this forum.....

Concepts For CAT

CAT-2007: 99.43%ile

CAT-2008: 98.19%ile
(QA-89.26; DI-96.42; VA-96.67) My Mock Scores for 2008

Re: CAT 2008 for Working Professionals - 12-05-2008, 12:06 PM

HI all

How'z the preparation going,i m a student of TIME Aundh Pune, mine prep. is going a bit slow , but soon i will pace up

On Friday , there was an Achiever's Meet of TIME people who made through IIM's . TIME says that they have managed 59 final selections to IIMs and 125 final selections to other B'Schools from PUNE only .

Well , I went there to get some tips from the guys , and believe me the session was very motivating . There was a guy who had 10 years of experience in an IT giant , out of which for 6 yrs he was in US , last year he gave CAT and now joining IIM-I , I asked him personally as of why he went for MBA , he said " look man getting into IIM was my dream , and if you really have the passion for it , nothing can't stop you from achieving your goals.Neither the personal problem as I have a family too , nor the work pressure as I am above a Project Manager and have to work for more than 14 hours . When I can do , then definitely you can ."

HATS OFF To this guy............

One more guy ( really like HULK ) was there who converted 5 out of BLACKI , can you believe this guy was already doing his MBA from SIBM ,completed 1 year, which he is going to leave now
He also talked all about his passion .

Many of the questions from audience who r working was that they are not getting time for preparation as they have 12- 14 hrs working .
And the only solution that these guys told for this is "PASSION".

Just think of guys , coming 6 months of preparation can change your coming 40 -50 years of life .

Can't you invest 6 months for a better 50 years of your life .

Be self motivated.......
