TRUST ME. I HAVE LOTS OF SENIOR FRNDS WHO HAVE PASSED OUT/ARE STUDYING AT ALLIANCE AND THEY DNT HAVE A 60% IN GRAD. DNT GET CONFUSD BY WHAT OTHERS SAY, AND DNT BE MISLED. Alliance mentions this >60% in its prospectus/website, true, but its subject to relaxation.... dnt be misled.
Hi there friend,
Your senior and supersenior friends at Alliance have already taken admission a long time back. From this year onwards the management has decided to accept applications ONLY from students who have a consistent 60% academic record. The "ONLY" relaxation is when you have a work experience of minimun 2 years after your graduation. Instead of listening and believing what your senior and supersenior friends had to say, you could have called up the college and enquired about the eligibility criteria.
Thank you for your time and concern.
KEEP rOCKING

Hi,
to prepare for the presentation:
Start communicating in english as much as you can.
Read lots of newspapers and articles.
Brush up your vocabulary and pronounciation.
Speak up on any general topic in front of your frens or family, and tell them to honestly give you feedback that where do you fall short and where do you perform good.
Pay special attention on your body language and eye contact.
You can speak in front of a mirror and observe yourself.
The best way is to practice as much as you can in front of peers, it will help you realize your strong and weak areas, and you can work on to improve them. This will also help you overcome stage fear. Practice and lots of practice is the key.

Good Luck

I wrote them a mail asking a few other queries as well, about updating my XAT scores, etc... they replied to everything else except the above...!!
Give the college a call on Monday noon and enquire.

Does anyone know how much of it is true??!

Cheers!!

Hi,
The ROI at Alliance is preety good BUT the only condition is that "you have to be good enough".
The quality of education at Alliance is superb.
Great companies visit the college with attractive and hefty pay packages.
You need to be sincere enough to grab the best opportunity.
The college is indeed the best in Bangalore after IIM-B of course.
For any student who is not satisfied with mediocrity Alliance offers a really good ROI.
Good Luck

This means that the level and type of questions will be as they are in the GMAT.
Students will be called for the interview if they are shortlisted in the aptitude test and presentation.
Students will be grilled during the interview on questions like: past work ex, studies, interests, why MBA? why Alliance?
The interviewers will be looking for a proactive mind , a positive attitude and an apetite to learn, students should be well acquaited with questions like "what do you expect from this course? how this course will help you achieve your goals? what did you learn from your past work ex? what role did you play in the organization?"
The most simple questions turn out to be the most tough ones , prepare well.
Some more expected questions are "strengths and weaknesses" "short term and long term goals"
Good Luck

Hey Piyush

Thanks a lot for the detailed info. Can you tell if the presentation thingy has to be done infront of a larger audience or only 2-3 persons from the interview panel?

Regards
Priyanka

Hey, this might seem like a stupid question ("There are no stupid questions" - Old Chinese Saying )
I am giving the MAT to be held this Sunday 3rd Feb and have specified that Alliance should be one of the colleges that my score should go to... do i need to separately apply to Alliance Business Academy? (as in buy the form from somewhere?) or can i wait and see my results and then apply? or do they look at the score that is sent to them and then decide whether to give a call or not...

And what sort of a percentile does the institute give a call?

Thanks in Advance...

Dude I dono much about the Feb MAt but I will try to help ya out..I gave ma DEC Mat and got a ALLIANCE call...I have ma GD on 1st of march...I never filled any separate form of Alliance ....You just have to write the name of Alliance in MAT form and they will automatically call ya...They will just ask you to fill the form along with a DD of 1000 bucks and send the application to them...They will even send you a form...So chill and relax and give ya best shot on Sunday...Any score of around 700 and u will get a call 4 sure....I hope you have more than 60% throughout your academics as this is a stipulation to get into this college from this year..Hoping that some of your doubts are cleared...Cheers and ATB for Sunday...

I will try to answer ur query..Buddy first of all don't compare colleges...Christ and Alliance are two totally different colleges and both have their unique qualities...So the answer to your second problem is that both are good and you have to see which suits u best..Secondly ,every college in the top 20-30 hypes its salary figures by many ways...I don't think Alliance is any exception but don't think that they will hype it so much...If you are a good student and you get into the college and perform then their is no way u wont get placed..So have faith in ur self..Alliance is a good college...For more info on salary hype issue check the report of PG on misleading salary figures..You will get that on the homepage....Hoping your doubts are cleared...Personally I will advise you to join Alliance is you don't have any better options..Its a very good college..
