Hi Prasanna,
I really appreciate your efforts that you have put up for clearing our doubts..I have a simple confusion that I think, You, being a senior , will be able to help me out......I am BE in computer Sc and Engg and presently working in a prestigious Software product development company as a development engineer...I have around 24 months of experience in the industry and in the long run I would like to get into a career in Software Product Management.....something that relates to performing Product Planning and then to Product Marketing...Just to mention, I want to stay specifically with the Software Products only and would not like to change my industry...I am confused at this point, that with this aim in mind...what should I choose as a specialization in SP Jain institute...is it Information Management or Marketing or something else?? Please help
Thanks

Hey all!!
So, here I am. The first one to register for this year's SPJIMR interview session and probably the first one to post about the interview on PG.
First of all, the adcom guys were great. The way they managed everything - right from the registration to logictics to scheduling - was simply commendable.
Both the interviews were group interviews but, contrary to what was anticipated, the second interview group was not chosen on the basis of your specialization.
The 1st one was an easy one.
Small group discussion, with no one cutting each other. Questions targetted to individuals on the basis of their bakground (work-ex, place you belong to, hobbies etc)
The 2nd one was a bit noisy.
There were discussions on what applicants had mentioned in their profile sheet. Again, individual questions targetted to applicants. But this time around, the questions were to probe what kind of person you are. Experiences were being scrutinized in details.
Oh, by the way, the guys who get through the 1st round will have to give a simple online test and another written test later. (both don't exactly qualify as tests. they were just questions and answers)

What type of questions are asked in the test.
Are they personal questions & preferences or are they academic related.

@khmaster - there was not a single guy in both my groups who didn't have a work ex. So, I guess that's the reason why there were no academic questions. Questions were both from your professional as well as personal life. @keep_smiling - No one asked the CAt scores (expect for the fellow appliants )
@ RISING - We were 6 in the first round. 4 went through to the next round. But, of course, you can't generalize that. Lead me not to temptation, I'll find my way myself | | | | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to sick_mind For This Useful Post:

Howz the test that they give between the 2GI's. Is it personal as well, on values etc.
There is no GD officially, but do they still do something like a GD.
Howz the Group Interview different from the Personal Interview.
I got my interview scheduled tomorrow, any tips you would like to give.
