SPJ wont be looking at sectional scores...atleast thats wat is the unofficial word. But as I already sed, we dont have any visibility on wat wud be the cutoffs and whethr scorin sm xx.xx wud get u the call....WE cant possibly tell u much abt it.

Having sed that, it doesnt mean that the second shortlist wud b entirely based on scores...like the IIMs do...it wil stil b a profile based cal with the CAT/XAT/GMAT scores also being taken into consideration.

In effect, those who dint make the cut this time, might just cross the threshold with sm help from their CAT/XAT/GMAT performance. Thats wat it all means, not that with any kinda profile, u wud get a cal if u jus got 99.99 in CAT.

Pls refrain fm askin Qns on "am expectin so much in CAT..wud I get an SP call"...
cos 1. U dont knw wat ur actual CAT score is
2. We dont know wat the cutoffs wud b.

Is spjimr calls given to applicants who preferred mumbai location for gd/PI. because the applicants whose name are in the list are called in mumbai only.
I am from Calcutta and given calcutta as preferred gd/pi location.My name is not in the list. Any body who predferred other centre got call and also are they calling all in mumbai cancelling other gd/pi location??

the calls that are released by spjimr are just one part of the lot
they will subsequently release the lists for other center
and yes may be you are right the list yet out are mostly for mumbai ppl

I think SPjain ppl need more time to eval other profiles
so just cross your fingers and hope for the best

hello PGs..

no call for me in the first list.. here's a glimpse of my profile... one would say i was rather more than just an optimist.. .. but i still am.. as the second list is to be announced after CAT and XAT..

10th - 87%
12th - 84% (both from Guj. Board)
Btech Computers - CGPA 8.7/10 (ranks me in the top 10 of my branch)
yet to complete BTech.. so no question of workex..(am just 20)
I beleive that my extra curriculars should be my main strengths..
karate black belt (!), many quizzing certificats to my name.. have conducted week long workshops on Java.... that being my stronghold.. and the list continues.....

bottom line - no profile based call!

the query goes this way..

had applied for finance.. now that already 400 odd have been shortlisted for just 50 odd seats... is it a possibility that i have lesser chance for the second list call... than if i had applied in some other branch...??

does SP Jain consider the scores and profiles.. to give just calls in whatever branch applied and then go for the specialisation later... coz in my case.. finance was just a liking but have not yet fully decided as no other college actually demands.. have an inclination for finance and systems..

Folks, I understand the posts in this thread r cmg thick and fast now...but pls take sme time to check up on previous posts...otherwise, u mite just miss out on critical info given by us.

This particular query was already answered.

The interviews will be held ONLY IN MUMBAI. The choice of intw locations was given with a rider that "if we were to conduct intws in other places, wat wud b ur preference". Now, SPJ has decided to conduct the intws at its premises in MUMBAI ONLY. The reason being that the intws wud be phased out over 2 months on different dates and the candidates wd b given a choice of booking their slots.

We are in the process of sending out the confirmation mails to all the shortlisted candidates. Pls be patient till then.

U can expect the mail to come in by EOD today !! So do not panic and spam the thread saying "I havent got the mail"

@Prasanna: With about 350 - 400 calls being already sent to people for a mere 50 odd seats , Do you feel that a second list is on the cards??..... Seriously felt that I will be getting a call from SPJIMR. But okay, life moves on .

Call Getters, Can you please post your profiles in the thread. Atleast, that will help explain (albeit a precious little) what SPJ was looking at from the prospective candidates.
