How this is possible? I have checked answer key of all major institues (IMS, Times, etc), its clearly mentioned that this question is wrong. Then how A can assume that he/she will get 4 marks for this question.

same is true with 96 marks paper...lets assume person A has solved tht question and according to all insti he has got it correct...while B hasnt solved it at all....
so before correction, cut off is calculated as per increased marks of A.
Now apply correction, as question will be ignored, A will loose his 4 marks and so cut off will go down...
Do I make any sense here?
