I agree! It's important to peak at the right time, so June sounds good as a launch pad. But before that, one should brush up on fundamentals, and also start following some kind of routine/timetable.

yes, I think I should start gaining momentum from April and push in top gear in June, so that no time is wasted in June..
I see the preparation as a run, you start running slowly, heat up your body and start running full speed keeping in mind that you run in that speed till the end without tiring..

Re: CAT 2008 Aspirants - 14-02-2008, 01:01 PM

Hi all ,

CAT2007 was a disaster for me.Inspite of gud prep I was not able to perform well. This incident shattered all my confidence. After 1.5 months of gloomy days I decided to give CAT2008 one more shot with full prep.
I have started with shakuntala devi(puzzles to puzzle you) puzzle book and I am planning to finish "more puzzle to puzzle you"(shakuntala devi) and puzzle book of george summers.I have also started to clear my basics in math from 9th and 10th class book of NCERT.I am reading magazines and novels to improve my english.
Side by side I will try to solve DI book of arun sharma.
When all of these will be finished , which I am planning to do by mid march, I will start correspondance course of Career Launcher.
puys please let me know about my approach.Do I need to make any change in it .

Regards,
Amit.

@nikhilarora i must say for a section like DI & LR practice makes perfect so just keep practicing so that you will understand how to solve different models of sets especially for LR. In my opinion success in LR requires "clarity of thought" which you can easily obtain with lots of practice. As for improving the speed of your calculations i would advise you to go through the speed maths material given by TIME institute or the Vedic Maths material given by Career Launcher. These were of a great help to me when i started preparing last year.

hi nikhil,
for practicing DI and LR you can use the coaching institutes materials instead of going for individual books from here and there...coz they are quite robust and provide sufficient amount of practice material.
just get any such material and start with it...
