How should be one's profile for getting into top B'schools? I know great the entrance exam scores is the entry ticket...other than that wat else is expected?....do they consider experience in software companies...do they give weightage to the extracurricular activities we involved during our college n school days..?
Wat do Alumini's of top institutes say about this...pls post your views...

hi mate...scores alone will not ensure a seat in niche bschools.It
wl help u to fetch calls, except some schools on the big tier, B
gives weightage to accad..a frnd of mine fetch a cal frm B wit
a score of 98.6,she hv excellent accademics thru out career.
see most of the schools have a specific weightage on work ex,
extra-carricular etc etc...cming to software engineers..huh..
they dont have any weightage:( check the batch profile of
major schools..nearly 80%of engineers, esp software engineers,
chk d profile of members in this thread..am sure majority are
software engineers. See they dont have any weightage excpt
programs like PGDSM in IIM B..rest coleges looking for diversified
profiles..so dont worry about it. Good accads,extra-curriculars
n work ex wl help u to a certain extent to fetch u calls beyond
ur score...
