hi raghav. ur schedule is fine its always good to mix the subjects .. what I did was i used to do english daily 1 hr.. and another 2 hrs something else either qa or Di on a rotational basis.
well just one suggestion dont leave weekends right now do study a bit in weekends too.. just dont leave fully .. do enjoy but take out some time to.

also i guess mocks r approaching so u will b occupied with that.. dont dont forget about analysing them thats the most essential thing to do

Hey @madadi

Ideally speaking equal time should be given to all the sections in the test Initially try to give equal time to all the sections as you will be appearing for the mocks for the first time

Later, depending upon your performance & analysis of the mocks you may be strong in some of the sections and might be weak in some. So giving lesser time in the strong sections will also do

Hope it helps!!!

Cheers!!!!

well giving how much time per section is totally an individual appraoach

as paper is of 150 minutes ideally one shd give 50 minutes each

but generally coaching guys tell to give around 45 minutes each then give 15 minutes to the section u have not performed well to clear the cutoff

many ppl however like to work in random fashion say 30 minutes they start with quant then they give 40 minutes to VA then around say 40 minutes to DI then they come back to quant and give another 20 minutes and then again back to VA or di for rest of time

so the gist is that thre is no hard and fast rule for this. u need to discover that with lots of mocks by experimenting and see how u can score max.
generally ppl give less time to there strength and max time to there weakness..

as for my personal exp I always used to start with VA and do it for strictly 50 minutes and then 40 minutes DI and as qa being my weakness max time to that.
howevere the final Day all my experiment went for toss and i ended up giving around 60 minutes to VA and only 30 minutes to qa.. so u know u cant say..

still its always good to follow the time keep an eye on watch but not alot as this also creates pressure

Hey,

It depends on personal choice how you attempt the paper.

My strategy had always been attempt DI first goto Verbal and then Quant. My Verbal was the strongest and DI too. Once I was done with those two sections, I would concentrate only on Quant.

But then that was my strategy. See where you weakness and strengths lie. Attempt papers and see what is best for you.

After it should be your own strategy as it would be the most comfortable for you.

Cheers and Good Luck.

How does one find out what is the best strategy?

Here is what I did, I attempted a few mocks and used a variation of strategies. Within four mock cats I found what suited me best.

You could always solve tests on your own and figure out what suits you best.

Point to remember while deciding on the strategy:
  1. Ensure that you are comfortable.
  2. It maximizes your time.
  3. I found it particularly relaxing to solve Verbal in between DI and Quant so that I got a break from all those numbers. So choose what helps you think better.
That being said, here is the hypocritical part of having a strategy. Dont stick yourself to a particular format and strategy. The paper tends to be rather unpredictable. I remember a particular IMS simCAT that was a newspaper. It was really weird and all the questions were in the form of a newspaper. In this case how do you strategize? You just have a once over and soldier ahead.

Cheers and Good Luck.
