Re: CAT 2008 Aspirants - 26-05-2008, 06:26 PM

Hello,

I had appeared for CET two years back with coaching from Career launcher. I also did refer to Career Forum course material. I was not able to get through and also I got a job and have been working since then. Now i wish to appear for CAT this year and want to know whether i can use the same course material as i was using earlier for CET because as the course contents are the same or should i get material specific for CAT.

Also, apart from the course material, what additional books need to be referred?

Thanks.

The material provided for CET though good is still not up to the mark as far as CAT is concerned.
The reason is that MHT-CET concentrates more on your speed of analysis which is not the case as far as CAT is concerned.
I would recommend you to get your hands on the CAT material for prep.
You can start with the Arun Sharma books for the various sections.
It is quite comprehensive and you will also get a feel of how the CAT differs from CET.

Concepts For CAT

CAT-2007: 99.43%ile
(QA-93.17; DI-95.64; VA-99.43::2 calls NO Converts)
CAT-2008: 98.19%ile
(QA-89.26; DI-96.42; VA-96.67) My Mock Scores for 2008

If everything is coming your way, BEWARE; you might be on the wrong lane.

I would also suggest Trishna publications quant book.
Get as many problems as you can but do your concepts from one or at max two books as referring to more books will lead to more confusion.

all the best
