hi all,

i am working in construction company in such a place that no coaching institute is available near 300 km radius. therefore i will request at puys to help me out. can anyone give papers of AIMCAT 2008 series after each test via internet so that i can do it? otherwise it will be very hard to me to sit in cat 2008. internet is the only communication available here.

hi guys
i would be taking the test series of time this year.Iam very keen to write ims simcats as well.But what worries me is the inflexible timing by ims and my odd office timing as well which can be well adjusted when i write the time test. What i would like to know is ! Does IMS here in delhi give simcats as take away?( like i dont have to write the test at their center and instead take away the paper home from their office after each test is conducted )

people used to upload mock cats papers on esnips(dot)com last year. Try searching on that site once d test is over.

As a new season of MOCK CAT's is beginning this Sunday, i would just like to put in some tips on how to approach the Mocks. I found them pretty useful. Hope they are equally useful for all the newbies.

As far as analysing a Mock CAT paper is concerned it is first advised that you give the test in the proper time duration format.

After the Test is over calculate your score and check for your accuracy.(Don't look at the solutions; only the answer key.)

Try out the Questions that went wrong. And then try out the one's that were left out because of the lack of time.
You will find that there are several of the easy Questions left out(Trust me there will be).

This is because we tend to miss out on reading several of the easy Q's as we keep on searching for the solutions of the difficult one's. This introspection will give you a rough idea on how much you could have scored if you would have attempted these Q's.

Also at times it might happen that while taking the test you might find a Q. difficult but as soon as the test is over you will find out that it was one of the simplest of the Q's. Never worry about them as this type of things happen.

Even after analysing an entire paper you will not have a clear idea of which sections you need to work out on.
For that you need to give atleast 4-5 MOCK TESTS before you can introspect about the section (or for that matter the topic) in which you seriously need to put in your efforts.

For example if you are scoring good in Quant. but consistently missing out on the Geometry Q's you know which topic is to be worked upon.

I guess u can apply for the mocks in correspondence. I think institutes offer u the facility to upload ur answers and get the analysis, percentile etc.

I think it is always better than scanned copies...plus i dont think there is any point in writing a mock unless u know how the others are faring in it.

and if u r hell bent on getting papers (ie, instead of joining a correspondence course or otherwise, believing that u make a trip to Kolkata once in a while- as written in ur profile - u can always visit college st. to buy past mocks

hello...thiz my first post on this site...a general question...i hav just graduated frm BITS,Pilani and started preparing for CAT.I scored 91% in 10th n 97% in +2...but i only have 65% in graduation.will it adversely affect my chances of getting into a top B-skool despite cracking CAT??I am placed in JPMorgan chase...

i guess iimb puts more stress on academics but others dont..so imho u wont b much victimized
