fellow Puys,

Really feel nostalgic while going through tis thread. I am highly indebted to this thread. I first wrote CAT on 06, VA was a disaster, it killed all my chances inspite of doing pretty well in the rest 2 sections.
Being undettered, decided to write CAT again, wrote CAT, this time,I worked harder & smarter, had 99.70 %ile ---> Joining IIM I

But , I want to help fellow Puys, who is in a position where I was even a few months back. Having loads of files in my lappy, which is no longer that essential to me; but I want to delete in either.Felt like sharing it where it mattered most---> PG !

I have selectively collected materials on quant, VA(mainly RCs, lots of them !) under one roof......errr... webpage.

hey guys n gals , i had gone through totalgadha.com ...d strategy planning designed by them for CAT 08-09 is 1 of d methodological approach 4 most of us. so check it out n feel free to comment on it.
dis month i started with vocab portion...some of my resource are shared on here...

The important inputs given are:

• IIMs are not a good place if you want to go into a tech company after your MBA. People in IIM love finance, economics and dream of Investment banks and Consultancy firms. I’d be a mismatch - I dream about technology all the time!

• Most engineers who join IIMs do it mainly ‘coz they have had enough of coding. I still haven’t - Again - I’d be the odd one out.

• After two years in such an environment, I’d lose touch with technology - and everyone agreed that it would be hard to get back into hardcore tech.

• It is not a do-or-die situation for me as yet. I can always go do an MBA later if i want to. Why hurry things up? I’m all of 22 years old.

I hope this will help you.. Even I was not clear what to expect when I was preparing for CAT..

i donno know if my reply is topical enough but I wish to enquire what CAT training insti shall I join in Delhi? i have heard that IMS South Campus is very good as highly reputed faculty like Gautam Sir, Manju Maam, and Vaibhav Sir are teching over there. whaddayasuggest?

but m really confused uppydog: as to which mock to go for?

free IMS SIMCAT or free TIME AIMCAT

can someone throw some light as to which mock wd have a better Quality Qn and which one wd hv a wider coverage?

well there is very little to choose amongst the two.....
both are great
and as its all india free mock its quality would be awesome too.....

how can you decide.....

well firstly both of them i guess would be a scholarship test....
so incase you have not already joined any institutes give the test of the insti you wann join because you get dscounts depending on your scores here

also...
i sugggest all the puys decide and take one common test so that you can gauge yourself better......

PS: last year time conducted another free mock while ims did not......
