Ganesh, actually, that word in bold, is what I object to. Comparing two schools is just plain, unfair and nothing else. I didn't intend to come down so strongly, but then, at that time, that's how I felt.
No offence meant please!

all these r personal opinions.. lets take a break on this issue.. giving up a college or trying for a college is purely a personal wish of a person. one cant judge it.. instead of pointing others and asking them what coll u will..what u will do.. please do a self introspection. no one knows u better than urself..
This discussion i believe wont go elsewhere because ppl r on both sides of coin..this wld further add in heat n spam..
in the end it all boils down to the degree of the passion n craziness inside u.. so lets refrain from this and keep on helping the aspirants
cheers

you are right diablo.
comparison among two or more colleges is not at all fair...
what i think is the major criteria for what the colleges are compared is the salaries...
i have seen many ppl from not so high ranked B-schools getting successful in life both in terms of moolah and social position just because of the hard work they put in...
i agree the label of the college does matter but just only once...
once you are in the actual testing situation...it is just the toughness of the mind which helps...not the IIM or FMS or an XYZ tag...
we must not compare these colleges...and as sumit has said earlier, we must also not try to peep into other's lives...
its a personal decision afterall...
PS:no offences to anyone....:-)

study material of all the insti are more or less same.. what happens in the end is no one is able to finish them seriously..I have seen that happening.. so I would just however boring it gets do finish any of the study material..
apart from the study material its also necessary to go thru right kinda books.
http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/prep-r...-books-23.html (Books)
. and newspaper editorial to cultivate regular reading habit... editorials are not a hard n fast rule..if u like novels..u can go for that but editorial are asked as it helps u cultivate the habit of reading just anything so as to kill the boredom..

Hi folks,
I have a query. If I could get a word of advice from some of you,it would be appreciable.
My profile:
Btech(some college),2007 passout.
1 year work-ex in IT consultancy.
I am in a dilemma as I wanted to give my GMAT as well as CAT this year. Now,with around 6 months left for CAT,08. Is it advisable to appear for GMAT in july/august and then go for CAT.If yes,how should I go about preparing considering the time I have left with the 2 exams. If some one can please jot down the books, other prep tips for CAT,it wud be great.
Also, should I leave my GMAT appearance plan (as I have only a 1 year ex and dont really see a chance) and concentrate on CAT from now.if yes, please suggest me a prep startegy!!

if you have given cat b4 then it should be of no wory for you....
you can easily give gmat in aug/sept and then cat in nov.....
in this case you need to concentrate on your gmat now...
and then on cat after the exam.....
if you have not given cat earlier you can still give both the exams but you would have to work really hard for it.....

hi dost,
if i am right i can see the IT adversities being faced by u too...
if i'd been in your place then i must have prepared for GMAT ( as it requires a high level of VA) and then appeared for CAT... then after CAT result appeared for GMAT (obviously if i dint fare well in CAT)...
rest is your take on the very matter...
about your query regarding books n all, you can get sufficient amount of gyaan on this very thread itself...
many champion puys are a regular on this thread...u can take their advice also...:-)
