Hi Guys !

well i guess iama newbie here .well not exactly a newbie just an old guy with a
new name, avatar and a new found desire.Although this would be my first
attempt for an MBA(errr not exactly,ok its 2nd attempt ok ok yaar its 3rd attempt,but this time its a serious one) .I would be starting with basics from ims material .Anyway hope to gain insights from u guys.As you can see from my english that my VA is pretty pathetic so am gonna start doin a couple of exercises and learn some concepts from kaplans gmat book.Hope it helps !

Are there people, who are planning to appear for CAT 2008 after taking admission into a b-school? I made my first attempt in 2007 and scored 79 percentile with a pathetic score of 4 in English. It was necessary for me to take admission somewhere, which I took. But, now I want to prepare again, this time will put more efforts and definitely perform better (moreover, it can't be worse anymore). It would be great, if i cud get few more crazy people like me.

I don't see why you're planning for CAT again if you have to take admission this year itself, which you said you have already secured..... Even if you're admitted into an avg. college, I still think if you give your best, you can do well anywhere.... So, I don't see any point in repeating CAT and trying to get admitted again, 1st yr from this clg goes waste and you start all over again... Plus, the financial aspect, which is not the most important though......

Maybe you have some problems that's why you had to take admission this time, but I suggest if you have taken it, you should continue there.... Try and do your best there... From what ever I've heard, I can tell you that the interview panelists don't really seem to like people who've left their college mid way to take CAT again.... So, I would suggest you to think, consult and then decide.... However, it's only you who have to decide ultimately

which books or areas will help in givin us more breadth for RC ?

Are you asking about topics u want for preparation ? Or just normal tipcs for solving comprehension ?
One thing which is more important for solving RC is reading.Read whatever you can lay your hands on.This will remove the "Boring Factor" from your mind about a particular area of RC (like philosohpy might be boring for an engineer) and that will help you in concentrating on RC.

This guy is amitnsitian
He got an admit into FMS in 2007. He gave CAT again this year, got a good score, converted IIMC and is now going to joka.

It does not matter, you can give CAT again and justify your decision for IIM in the PI, after all you have completed the first year of MBA and have an advantage over the others.
Even a robber can justify his job saying, ability to manage risk, requires detailed planning etc., so why cant you justify leaving an average college for one of the biggies???
