Hi friends,

I am not going to ask which mock is better.....just wanna ask since this is going to be my first love affair with mocks, can u puys please tell me when do the mocks usually begin and when do we actually have to register for them??????? I dont wanna miss the bus and be late......particularly due to lack of proper knowledge.........

IMS SIMCATS start in september
TIME n CL start in august......
so u obviously ve to register in advance..... so as not to miss any !!!

abhay...werent the TIME & CL open tests on the same day last year on 15th july?
im pretty sure their test series start at that time...
& for TIME students aimcat 0820 was on the last sunday of may...

please correct me if im wrong...

ya dude ur quite right.but time and cl has multiple slots on sunday for giving the test so u can give both and the time test series and and the cl test series starts from july while ims test series starts from august

TIME ha 20 AIMCATS....but only for classsroom students.....only AIMCAT students can take only 15 of tem...tis is wat i was told at TIME center in kolkata.....n open mock series of any insti is a brand-buildin exercise n nothin else.....the original mock series starts a couple of weeks after the open for all test !!

ok to clarify the junta's doubts
IMS - has 8 SIMCATS..starts by the month of august..in addition to this u can also enrol for 8 maxcats which have to be taken at the center on saturdays..i think u can even take home the papers if u missed the maxcats.IMS doesnt have the flexibility to give SIMCATS on any other day other than sunday

TIME - has 16 AIMCATS(including the all india free AIMCAT)..AIMCATS start in july itself..The all india free AIMCAT is in june(last year it was in june)..they have some specifed levels of percentile to get if u want a discount on the test series package..like say if u get 98%tile and above in the free AIMCAT then u get some 50 % off on ur tests series amount..something like that..dont rem the slabs they have..The remaning 15 AIMCATS start from July..In between these u will also have the AIMSNAP,AIMIIFT,AIMJMET etc etc..dont have to pay seperately for this..when u pay for the AIMCAT test series ul be eligible to take these as well..AIMCATS can be given on monday mornings as well..i gave a few AIMCATS on monday morning..

hope it clears doubts on IMS and TIME..i got no clue abt CL.

to further clarify the doubts regarding CL...
CL test series starts in July...
they have 12 mock cats along with 16 FLTs ( take home tests )...
quantity vise thats enough...
but apart from the mock cats the FLTs are some times ridiculously easy...
mock cats are good...they have a lot of variety...
one thing i liked the most about the CL test series is the fact that they deliver the result on the same night via SMS...suppose u take the test on Sunday (either morning or evening) u'll receive the result SMS in the night itself...
one negative point is that the test papers have quite an amount of errata which is supplied at the time of exam itself...
its the cheapest in the market too...;-)

Time for this thread to hot up now...Its only 3 months left for the mock season to start...i gave CAT last time...first attempt...Scored a pathetic 92.9 %ile with 51%ile in VA :angry:...But this time as my Avatar shows, the Incredible HULK is going to use his Bulk at the right places(no double meaning puns intended here) and bell the big C...So bhailog, I want to do a real concentrated prep for 3 months now...Apr,May,Jun...So that I can take it easy during MockCATs and just analyse on my weaknesses and improve upon my strengths...Last time round, I started to work on my concepts when AIMCAT 05 was round the corner....:new_smile-l:.....Lets hope i get second time lucky...

i think this strategy is great...i am also following the same...first the concepts then the mocks...
but one thing I'd like to suggest...don't take chances...u must apply for other reputed one's also...
