My Detailed score is as follows:
Section - Score(Percentile)
VA - 47(99.77)
DI - 47.91(95.xx)
Quant - 28(93.xx)
Overall - 122.91(99.43)

However i cannot suggest you to concentrate on any particular section as i don't know what you are strong at.
And as such CAT is totally unpredictable. I mean looking at my score one might feel that VA was my fav. subject and Quant was the one of my weakest.
However it was completely the opposite of this and Quant was my strongest section with VA being the section where i had only cleared the cut-offs 3 times in 16 mock cats.
It was just that i concentrated so hard on my VA that i was able to get such a good score at it; but it came with a price of my Quant score going low.

So i can only tell you that you work out on all the sections; analyse your strengths and weaknesses and more importantly don't miss out on the section you are good at while you are concentrating on improving your weaker section.

Concepts For CAT

some guyz really rock even with minimal preparation guess it all boils down to their confidence and making the best outta what they have
One guy in my college got a 99.5+ with 90 in verbal even without joining any test :crazyeye: (just know him formally, helped me ace my placement test )
Unluckily he didnt get any calls
When I met ran by him after the results hoping to console him at having missed the calls by so less margin he instead told me laughing that he gave the test only for testing his grey areas to focus on for next year (cat 07 being his first mock/real) and he didnt remember some of the formulae/simple grammar rules :bizzare:
Saw the guy giving aptitude tests for placement and was awestruck at his speed usually attempted the whole paper and with surprisingly high accuracy
I was so much inspired by his cool and positive attitude that I decided to share it wih everyone (my first post btw )
Punchline - Confidence, attitude and poise really matter a lot
Best of luck to everybody for CAT08 !!!

Also if you are joining only the test series then let me tell you that the first 4 test of TIME are only for students who have taken full time course.
TIME offers a set of 16 AIMCATs and will also later offer an entry to people who are interested in taking only 8 AIMCATs by paying a lesser amount of sum.

Now for the quality i can only say that yes IMS has the best explained solutions(infact sometimes i felt that TIME people dont themselves knew the answers of the Q's they asked) but the Quality of test is much better as far as TIME goes.
Infact since IMS gives such wonderful solutions i suggest you to go for TIME test series and get the IMS SIMCATs photocopied from some friend and solve them yourself. As such the answer sheet provided by IMS people would be sufficient enough for you to gain a better understanding.
well....
i have taken ims sim cats, max cats, ace cats and classic cats

i can tell you that they conduct maxcats purely for raising the numbers.....
not even a single max cat made any sense,
plus they are very casual with it!!!!!!!
it is conducted on odd days and times
also the results takes sometimes as much as 15 days to come out.......

i seriously suggest that one should not join max cat
insted it would be better if you take sim cats as well as some test series of other insti

Even i know that the MAXCAT is not worth taking up, as they experiment a lot in them.
One of the max cats i had heard of was having timings for each section.
But then i mentioned everything in details so as not to appear to be totally biased against IMS.

If you ask for my personal opinion then it is any time preferable to go for TIME test series rather than going for IMS.

Hi, the decision of joining classes is the right one. They will provide you with some idea about your approach to the exam and you will surely find lots of like minded people in your class
According to me, colleagues are the most important factor in cracking cat

I would suggest you start your classes from march and prepare whenver you get the time. But the HARDCORE preparation should start only from May-june.
I know this sounds strange and different from all the cliches about how whatever you prepare is not enough; but there is a reason behind my logic.
If you start in full steam from March then you are bound to lose some focus midway, say by October. Burn-out becomes more imminent in the crucial period of September-November. So start now but ensure that you dont lose focus

All the best
