agree with u... 1 more points is, explainatory answers are more imp than ques, and thats where quality of ims material can be seen.

By the way guys, Im not sure how many of you know that NCERT text books can be viewed in their website. You neednt buy text books,it s all there from Class 1-12. check it out at NCERT - National Council of Educational Research & Training.

Isn't it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do "practice"?

Re: CAT 2008 Aspirants - 03-03-2008, 05:20 PM

hey i think 9 months is quiet sufficient.
Its better to start with Norman lewis - word power made easy for VA.
Quant - Arun Sharma and ne coachig institutes material (in case u hv it)
DI / LR - I use time materials and Arun sharma.
VA / RC - I use time materials and Arun sharma.
Think with out Ink.
u can go thru how to read faster and better by Norman Lewis (in case u need to improve ur reading speed)

Any news paper preferably the hindu..

And when i was going thru the link of gd/pi's here , i found a lot questions asked about economics too...(general questions)

Even i donno how improve economics knowledge....

Thats all i tel u as of now.. :-D

But at the same time buddy i would also like to quote that as far as test series is concerned TIME is much more preferable compared to IMS.

If you would have seen this years SIMCAT you would have noticed that there was a great deal of variations introduced; however none of these variations were good enough for a student to get a good grip on his particular skill or for that matter develop any strategy of going about in CAT.

In fact some of the Simcats were so absurd that it is nearly impossible for a CAT paper to be like that. I mean if you follow the pattern adopted by paper setters since the last few years you would see that they have reduced the No. of Questions and have started testing more analytical skills rather than your speed.
However still IMS finds it interesting to introduce a pattern having 40 Q's in each section with 10 of 1m,2m,3m and 4m.

On the other hand the level of variation is a bit less as far as TIME goes and you can get some realistic Mock sessions.

Buddy nine month is a lot of time if you are ready to give it your best efforts yaar.

I had jst joined the TIME test series and that was it man. But in the end was able to manage a good score.

I can only suggest you this: Don't cry over the time that you already wasted, concentrate on the time you have on hand and it will do wonders for you.

Hope my suggestion is of any help.

The same dilemma was harassing me as well as to what should i do.
Should i take admission given that i convert the calls i have or should i give CAT again nxt time.

You however have an exp. of 3 yrs and can also give GMAT.
I suggest you try out giving GMAT as you would be able to perceive an MBA from ISB or other such great uni. as well.

And as far as giving CAT'08 is concerned i think you should not let yourself down after the first time itself.Your scores are pretty OK and if you put in your efforts you can certainly improve them. All this won't take much of your time and you need not loose your focus from your job profile as well.
