UBS 2008-2010 Admission Queries

hey rahul,,,
i wanted to kno that the avg and median u mentioned -6.7 and 6.3 is in hand salry or ctc?
in earlier posts it was mentioned that othr colleges give ctc figures in placement reports.,,,ths y so inflatd figures..does ubs gives inhand salary figures?
and one more thing,,,,wat was the avg salary figure last year for 2005-2007 batch?

first of all regarding what u have heard.... i joined UBS last year.... was the coordinator of our Summer Placement... and was very active in the placement week that was held in UBS....i was there most of the times when the results were declared in the audi.... for most of the firms... have attended the ppts.. presented by the companies...which tell us the packages also.... this is absolute rubish that most of the ppl get around 4 lack....
UBS holds its placement through placement week... where day -1, day 0, day 1... places around 70-80 % ppl...... during these days the companies are arranged by the profiles offered and the package offered....

no firm below 6L package was given the slot on these two days...

barring IOCL and TCS... which gave 5.75 as the package... IOCL has upgraded the package to 8... while TCS is yet to come out with revised figures.....
so around 4 thing goes..

and regarding NRI students and there caliber....
although u dont need to worry about the NRI thing now... as there are no nri sponsored students.....
but just for some factual information.... last year... that is in my year... the nri students having percentile less than 90 is just 5.... and for ur information those 5 were in the first 20 students who got there summers....

u knw dude... no cv mentions the percentile score.... the cv that u give for ur placements....

i will say... only a child can say that 77 percentile is actually main lower than a guy with 99 percentile....

but a recruitor is looking for a person who can do a job... for which he is recruiting an mba.... not a high percentiler....

what gives u job is that u shud have content.... and u shud have the personality.....

CAT percentile by no mean is the final criteria for placement... thats something that u simply judge that a good percentilers are better... but in what sense ??? i ask u....

all 99 percentilers are better in personality and content than a 77 percentiler ???

hw many of ur frens who might be better than u got a percentiler better than u ???

i just say.... its an individual who takes the job....

and all colleges have students from the special categories.......

i dont knw u r aware.... bt do ask... whats the cut-off for IIMS for special categories ???

alot of things count.... and the lowest package...

i am really not aware of it.... i have asked the seniors....

will tell u about it....

there is a news in THE TRIBUNE today tat PANJAB UNIVERSITY is increasing seats in all departments in which NRI seats r scrapped........hope the same implies 4 UBS 2.......

i just talked to the ubs office
they told me that the result will be out today or tomorrow
and the gd /pi is scheduled in the second week of may
now for god sake they should stick with what they have said
can anybody confirm this

Unacceptable way of posting personal opinion about an Institute

Please note that whatever frustrations or grudges you have against any institute, you should NOT LET THAT REFLECT IN YOUR POSTS. We all have been waiting for quite a long time but none of us have made such nasty comments against UBS. You are not the one to pass judgements on any institute. The institute's always bigger than an individual, remember that. So, keep your frustration in check.

And repeating your point, groans welcome!!! But atleast it's earned to maintain sanity.....

Hi Puyz,
Sorry to bug the thread at this point of time.

Its very important to keep your personal opinions at bay while giving messages at any forum. I agree Saurabh007 messages were reflecting those personal biases, but at the same time his point was very true.

A reputed institute like UBS should have understood the sentiments of candidates at this point of time and their site should at least reflect one message " We are sorry for the delay of our admission procedures due to so and so reason, and propective students pls bear with us". Every other prestigious institute IIT-Madras, etc.. have done the same. This shows lack of responsibility from the admissions department.

We should not indulge in defaming one institute, but at the same time being prospective Managers of future, we should understand the issue from both ends.
The point noted by Saurabh007 is very well taken: "Along with the Institute, its equally important the batch which comprises of it." Though it is a very hard to absorb fact, but yes its very true at the same time.

And this kind of irresponsibility, surely should be brought forth in communities like pagalguy, otherwise where else.
I my self was waiting for results of UBS a few weeks ago. But now I have better options at hand, thats y opting it out.

My point is that, atleast prospective students(who are anxiously waiting for the results) and seniors should bring forth their concerns to the management of UBS.

And @Moderators, pls give due respect to the concerns and anxieties and frustations of the students rather than lashing out a single guy by the whole group, because we should all know our career is at stake.

And puyz we are all mature enough, we all know we will not get carried away by the personal opinions of someone.

I hope we all achieve our dreams in future.

even i want to say all these things
yesterday i talked to admin office
they told me that the result will be out on today or tomorrow
but no sign of result till now
regarding seniors part there is nobody except rahul to ans our queries
plz some seniors come forward and help us
alot depend on UBS results
i am really considering ubs as my best option even after FORE & IMT-N
comeon otherwise i have to pay and book my seat in these institutes
i need the fresh updates from seniors or any reliable source
