Ha ha .. don't get into this analysis because that will put unnecessary pressure on the ppl who are coming at later dates.

I don't know abt GD topics ... as I didn't interact with any candidates.

But I would like to welcome all u ppl to share ur exp and also ur status on ur other options too. Because my purpose is not to convince u ppl to join NIA but rather to help u make a more informed choice. So I might help u rank ur other options against NIA.

I am the most qualified person perhaps to ans this question of urs ... because I have been at both the places as a student )

So will give u the best & first hand analysis :P

IMDR : general MBA course - so u can join any sector u like , not approved by AICTE - doesn't affect ur job prospects but u r not eligible for doing PhD in future (if u wanna go for it) , highest salary is really close to NIA but avg and lowest r really low , 100% placements r not there , unique curriculum & teaching style (no other bschool in india will offer u this perspective) , fees r really low but u need to arrange for ur own accomodation as hostel is not available (actually they share the hostel of FC with very limited seats) , it has good enough reputation in the industry in western india

NIA : insurance specific MBA - so u insurance sector is ready to grab u but u cant really move far away from insurance except financial services and IT industry , AICTE approved , lowest salary is the biggest plus point which will surely go even furthur up by the time u ppl passout , 100% placements , curriculum is just normal one - with one specialization being insurance , fees r really high compared to IMDR but hostel and mess facilities r provided , it's an internationally reputed institute in insurance industry.

Hope I have provided u an objective comparision .. if u still can't decide then u can call me on 09970746934 .. will surely help u on this issue .. will even help u get in touch with students of IMDR also so that u get balanced views.

try making an impact in gd itself.the gd group had just 5 people each.so make sure u speak, rather u cannot escape speaking.u will also be asked to summarise.so follow the discussion carefully.interview questions:

Congrats ... I told ya ... it's not that difficult !!!!

Just a minor correction in salary figures :
With incentives : Lowest : 4.75, Avg : 6.30, Highest : 8.5
Without incentives : Lowest : 4.75, Avg : 5.85, Highest : 8.5

Only a couple of students got 4.75 and they took that offer because of their preference for job profile / company .. and one person got 5.05.
Otherwise everyone got offers above 5.25 ... and majority of the students are above 5.50.

I think U r the one who called me on 17th eve, right?

Urs was the only batch in which everyone was waitlisted.

Now the GDPI process is over and 60 students have been selected. And all the waitlisted candidates have also been ranked according to their scores in gdpi.

Now, when a selected student informs us that he/she wants to join another bschool and he/she wants his/her 25K back .... immediately we will call a waitlisted candidate. So there is no date for the activation of waitlist ... rather it's a rolling process.

And many many students decide to join other bschools everyyear ... so many of the waitlisted students have good chance.

i have got selected for MBA..but i have a query..

Do we need to necessarily produce work ex and relieving letter for joining MBA course at NIA?

coz i m in my bond period with my employer..they wud relieve me for education but not issue me letters..

Will this have any effect on placements during MBA?

Thanks

NIA just wants the proof that u have actually worked somewhere (if u have claimed it in ur application form).
So any proof of work ex will do ... so just a certificate of work ex or even ur salary slip (first & last) will also do.
As far as placements are concerned ... it depends on the recruiter ... but I also haven't heared of someone asking for relieving letter so far on capus recruitment ... so don't worry .. just jump in.
