Re: [07-Oct-07] Career Launcher Mock #9 Discussions - 07-10-2007, 12:34 PM

Hi,

I have a couple of following doubts. It would be great if someone could help me out with these:

First:
Solution says that Naomi Broady can have ranking 10 or 11 with points 31 or 25. This is wrong, Naomi Broady can not have a rank 10 because if she has a rank 10, then there would not be any rank 11 which is already mentioned and therefore Naomi has to have rank 11 and the points as 25. This problem makes question 7 useless sine both Laura and Naomi now have same points. (right??)

Second:
For questions 8 and 9, the value of X can be 8 as well. 7 is when they win against 7 others. Now when they play amongst them (N, J and L), the decision could be following:

N/J -> 10/2
J/L -> 10/2
L/N -> 10/2

this means that they get maximum in 8 matches (since X has to be maximum) and therefore this leaves the answers to Q 8 and 9 useless again !! Please let me know if I am missing something here.

Thanks !

Dex

Hey guys,
I haven't attempted the set you mentioned though, i did only the last set in DI (LR part)

Anyways, minus the mistakes in paper which i wasn't aware of till now, I think this was an over all great paper to have a month before D DAy

I personally found The English section more on the lines of 2006.

Re: sources - 07-10-2007, 04:07 PM

VA - 9
DI - 1.33
QA - -.33

Very very poor scores for me but I have learnt my lesson well from this one. English section I finished 40 minutes which was the limit I had set myself (it being my streangth) , then proceeded to DI and had 1hr. for the in my mind - Attempted and wasted a lot of time in the Sudoku puzzle ( a little bit of pencil pushing and persistence would have cracked it) but I unfortunatly I carcked before the caselet.

Then I thought the last LR caselet was doable but was too slow on it - I thought the question was not big deal and at least 12 marks were there for the taking but messed up that one too.

The a little look at the watch and I panicked straight away because I had less tha 30 minutes for Quant and I proceeded to mark answers without applying a straight head.

In short this was exactly the way I could have messesd up cat , at least now I can learn from mistakes.

Horrible and abysmal performance from side. will get only <5 in each section.Lots of lessons to be learnt from this test.A good one before actual CAT.
