Has any one at PG had his/her IIMA PI on 11th..........I will request the people to post their exp. so that we all can share the same hostel at A

.........I am from EC too....but have forgotten everything........got A on 24th ...any one on the morning slot with me can PM me........

Hello friends,
My 1st posting here.I was told abt this web site during my IIML interview by one guy from NSIT delhi.A and K results are out.Didn't get thorugh A and didn't appear in interview for K.
My Calls: A,B,C,L,K
My work ex: 6.7 Yrs.

This was my 7 th attempt in CAT.

My percentile in
CAT 2005 -99.86,CAT 2004 - 99.86,CAT 2003 - 88.5 or something.
Have earlier appeared in interviews of
IIMB- 2 times.Not selected
IIMC- once and once didn't attend the interview.
IIML- 2 times ,got final call in 2000 but didn't join.
IIMK- 2 times got final call in 200 but didn't join.
IIMA- first time appeared in feb. 2005 and not selected finally.

IIMA -2005 GD/PI Experiences.

GD Topic was about the placement in a technological managemnet institute.The govt alleges that the institute has not done to strenghten the technological management capabilities in the country.The placement is over with mostly MNCs and few indian companies coming in to the campus.The media cell secretary worries as to whether he should disclose this placemnet info to the media ?as it would invite govt's ire and not disclosing placements and salaries would place the competitive managment intsitutes ahead in this year's placement's and hence prospective bright candidates may prefer other institutes.

Interview exp - A panel of 3.

What does you company do? (I am working in a heavy engineering PSU ,more than 6.5 yrs work ex in the same organization)
In reply to my answer he said why wait for so many years?i want power to all in the country in next year,I said it needed a lots of money ,he asked how much?I said 9 lakh crore rupees,he said how many zeroes after nine ,i said 12,he said spell it in another way ,i said 9 trillion rs.He then asked about my company's mission statement,I cound't reply but instead told him about vision statement and also explained to them wot I understood as a vision statement.They asked my about job conflicts,I then went on to explain my job,(I wanted to tell them that my job doesn't involve interacting with ppl much) they asked few technical (layman type) of questions as i don't think anybody there was a mechanical or civil engineer.Again he asked me the same and i gave diplomatic answers that "In a professional organization,everbody has roles and responsibilites and if we are doing our jobs ,these things didn't matter ,though personal likes and dislikes are always there.)He asked me why do u want to leave the company ,he then asked me to join the newly started PGP program for working executives with min 7 yrs work ex.I said that the fee would be 2 times or 3 times to that of 2 yrs program and i cann't pay that.He said that he wud tell me no. of books that i can read,i then told him that casual reading on holidays cann't be compared to 2 yrs of study there.One guy then asked me a simple maths q where 2 sides of a triangle and angle between them are given ,for wot angle the area of triangle would be maximum ,i thought its a maxima minima problem and was very cautious and started writting simple equations ,but it was simply 1/2 ab sina,for a = 90 deg ,sina = 1,thus i cudn't answer it.He then asked me abt my hobby of playing tabla ,i told them that i have never learnt it and play instinctively,he asked abt one more indian musical instrument which is like tabla ,i couldn't answer it.

I don't know about B,C,L results,wotever the case may be ,i feel totally devoid of enregy and enthusiasm.May be I don't have it in me to become the class that is IIMA .But I don't think that after 7-8 yaers i wud be willing to join any other institute.They wud never be able to add value in terms of wot i am looking for.Anyway all the best to all aspirants and congarts to all who made it ,u definitely deserved it and for ppl who missed it ,don't think u lost ,just something went wrong ,which can happen anytime to anyone.Don't take it personally friends.
But as for me ,I know that somewhere i missed out ,made some mistakes or was not upto mark.But at present my disappointment is for more prevailing as compared to better sense which again propels me to write CAT 2006 and join the process of selection for next year.

Let me be a lone ,indefatigable traveller on the road of excellence and is it that the journey to excellence never ends?

Seems like you just enjoy being interviewed......
