I have a few doubts in the previous AIMCATS....
If anyone can help pls inform.

Q 86. There is a sequence of nos. whose nth term is tn. It is given that tn = (tn-1-1)2+1, where n is a positive integer greater than 1. If t1=3, what is the product of the first 10 terms of the sequence?

Ans:: Since n>1
Reqd. answer = [22 +1] * [24+1] * [28+1] * …. * [21024+1]
Hence answer is [22048-1]/3.

In your solution n=1 has been considered. Is that correct?

Q 42. In how many ways can the first n natural numbers be arranged in a row from left to right, given n=7 and there are an odd number of numbers between any two even numbers and an even number of numbers between 1 & 2.

Ans:: Is correctly 576, provided ‘0’ is considered an even number (allowing 1 and 2 to
be adjacent to each other).

Can 0 be treated as an even number?

Q24. & Q25. While calculating the answers to these two questions, I think the
assumption that one already knows whether the coin having a different
weight is lighter or heavier has been made. This is probably assumed from
the stmt. in Q23. where the coin is specifically stated to be lighter.

Is the solution correct?

Q108. If the sum of the number of zeros in the factorials of each of the first ‘n’ natural
numbers is 250, the factorials of how many of these natural numbers will end with
an odd number of zeros?
Ans:: The question states that the number of zeros in the factorials of the natural number
and not number of zeros at the end (forming the last digits) of the natural number
is 250. Hence explanation provided says,
8! = 5040 has 1 zero whereas it should be counted as 2.
The last stmt asking you, how many of these natural numbers end with zero cannot
be confused with the earlier part of the question.
Hence there will be fewer numbers to choose from and the answer should be
smaller.

If there is something wrong with my understanding of the question please clarify!

Yeah I gave it today but since I only signed up for 8 Aim Cats so don't have the paper with me right now.

It was a good mock and on the lines On which I expect CAT to be - maybe a wee bit tougher and more questions.

English seemed doable and DI was quite Straight forward as well , Quant was a lil bit tougher than the other 2 but definatly not too tough.

P.S. - I hope CL guys learn something on how to prepare Mocks

This is my first post and I must admit that the scores people post here intimidate me. Although I managed a somewhat streaky 99.49 percentile in AIMCAT0807, I am not sure if I would be able up the same level. Anyway my scores for AIMCAT0806 are

VA 15 attempts/12 correct/45
QA 8/6/22
DI 9/8/31
total score 98. what percentile can I expect ?

I have a doubt in the key here, in Q 15, the correct answer is given as 1. Cut if u take the value of all the variables as 0, then u get the answer as 0 too. So shouldnt the correct answer be 5, i.e. cannot be determined.

Not considering this correction, disappointing AIMCAT i think, seeing the score before this post.

Pol option according to me can be from 30 to 160, with intervals of 10 maybe.

Hi , Yet another good mock for me (surprising considering that i do not like small papers that much) ...

Started off with DI , the upsets sets was solvable . Skipped the 5 variable set . Did the other two also but it look a whole lot of time (1 hr). I tried to be smart here and marked None of those for the 3 questions in 3 sets i didn't attempt (all 3 went wrong )

Then went to maths . Slow and steady and a lot of reasonative guessing in this section . I attempted more than i usually do here but at the cost of more time (50 min)

English was a fast rapid blitz at 30 min since i wanted to hit quants again .. Passages were ok - not overly complex ... 10 minutes given to quant where i solved 1 question ...

Read as (Section : Score (Correct/Attempted)))

DI : 40 ( 11/15 )
VA : 60 ( 16/20 )
QA : 25-30 (7*/10)
(unsure of one question , solved it correctly but have marked it incorrectly on Question paper , mostly wrong , bad bad mistake)

Overall : 125

A Still Stuck with mediocre scores.. Something is seriously wrong with me this time around.. the number of SILLy mistakes in quant is staggering..

Scores: (Attempt, Correct, Wrong, Score)

QA: 8, 4, 4= 12

DI: 15, 10, 5 = 35

VA: 13, 6, 7 = 17

Total: 36, 20, 16= 64
