Dude, Chill !!

Please read the msgs correctly, as IMPACT has pointed out there are 3 courses: PGDIM, PGDISEM & PGDITM.

There is no course such as SCM.

From wot u have mentioned i could sense u must be talking abt PGDISEM course, so for u here is the info:

PGDSEM is a seperate course which provides specialization in Industrial Safety and Environment management and it's a seperate course.

Go thru the posts by impact... shud give u a clear idea regarding the courses.

Someone was asking abt the industry sponsored candidates - this isavailable in the IE course, whose entry is thru GATE and not CAT.
PGDITM and PGDISEM also have provision for industry sponsored candidates. Unsure abt the exact numbmers though...
In the PGDIM course (the general management course); there is NO reservation for industry sponsored candidates.

Regarding industry sponsored candidates in NITIE, apart from PGDIE whose entry is through GATE scores we have

5 Industry sponsored candidates in PGDITM (Post Graduate Diploma in IT Management )apart from the regular 13 candidates selected through CAT.

15 Industry sponsored candidates in PGDISEM ( Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety and Environment Management) and 15 regular candidates selected through CAT.

i have a query..in the online appln form there are 2 columns in the acheivements section namely extra curricular activites and awards/acheivements won
now is it ok to write our acheivements under the extra curricular activites column or should we specify them seperately..example can playing cricket for the college cricket team be called an extra curricular activity and part of the college cricket team that won the winners trophy in some tournament come under awards/acheivements?

else can i specify the below under extra curricular activity as
part of the college cricket team that won the winners trophy in some tournament.pls help..pretty confused here..sorry if the question is quite stupid!

Normally extra-curriculars include things like Dramatics, Plays, You representing your college/school for some competition and things like debating and all. If you are working or even otherewise it may include any Social Work done for a cause, like for example teaching and guiding poor students and things like these...
As for awards/achievement it can be from any field... like Academics (e.g. Maths Olympiad) or Sports (e.g. You being a part of school cricket team which won the district level competition...). If you are a state topper in your board examination or a Rank 1 holder in IIT-JEE... then these also come under achievments...

Any activity that interests you or that you have done apart from your curricular work counts as extra curricular activities. Which one of them will be pertinent to the application form of a B School is a question you will have to ask yourself.

Your achievements and awards would include only those activities for which you have won some accolades. In the case when you won a tournament you definitely would be having a certificate and it counts as an achievement. Usually certificates are considered as proof of achievements or awards while a proof is not necessary for extra curricular activities that you were involved in.

Hope this answers your question. Keep posting your questions here and no question is a stupid question. So do not consider that while posting your queries. All the best for all your endeavours.

What you said does make complete sense? I will be giving CAT this year and when Billy advertised that SCM in NITIE is one of the best in Asia I was almost taken in by the statement. Thanks a lot for giving me a better perspective.

Dear NITIE Friends

I have two queries regarding Demand Draft

1) I have made the draft from Bank of India( payable at Mumbai). Is it acceptable, since the brochure says that the draft should be in favour of SBI.

2) The draft is in favour of " NITIE" and not " NITIE Munbai" as instructed in the brochure.

Please tell me if the above changes can lead to cancellation of my application
