Regarding the dispute u r having with YSS on the SCM/OPS thingy, please do pm the concerned party instead of arguing publicly and convince him to edit his post if he is at fault. Mudslinging is against forum rules...
Regarding SCM in NITIE, you will need to be here to see for yourself. When NITIE was started, it was started as a consultancy org. All these programs, viz. pgdie, mdp, pgdim etc. were started in due course of time. The amount of SCM consultancies that our profs are involved in is stupendously high. There is an immense respect for the SCM fraternity here in the industry. FMCGs, Mfrng companies, Govt. has approached NITIE to avail its consultancy services. The tag of being the best in OPS and SCM has been earned across a span of more than 4 decades. The industry respects NITIE for this.
To deem a comment as baseless, u need to have sufficient facts... which is missing in your case. You must have studied in statistics that you have to accept the hypothesis if you fail to reject it.

Hi Billy
A post which says - "Forget the IIMs and ISBs" and "the best in asia" needs to be supported with much stronger facts and figures rather than subjective term like - "stupendously high" and "immense respect" which you have used in your post here. Infact, most of the top b schools can use these terms and make such claims. In such cases, what can support tall claims like - "the best in asia" is not such statements but tangible facts and figures. I had tried something similar in one of my posts
HERE (SJMSOM ,IIT Bombay - Admission Queries) but I had refrained from making any comparisons. The post mentioned here is about Faculty and does not include details on Consultancy and Management Development programs.
Withouth any logic to substantiate the claim, making such posts are nothing but misguiding the aspirants. Here YSS has advised the aspirant to "Forget IIMs and ISBs". I would be very interested to know how many of his batchmates have taken this advice. How many in NITIE have left final calls from the IIMs and ISBs. Again, please give numbers to substantiate. Infact, I have two of my batchmates (one of them a hardcore PGite) who have left final IIM calls to join SOM. It would be interesting to know the figures for NITIE.
I have been in PG long enough to understand the forum rules and being into the second year of MBA has given me a good exposure of the strengths and weaknesses of various B schools. I have never refuted the strength of NITIE in Ops. Every B school has its own strengths which it has built over the years and there is no doubt that NITIE has been known for Ops. However, comments like "Forget the IIMs and ISBs" and "Best in Asia" are uncalled for and may misguide the aspirants.
My post never questions the idea but it questions the presentation.
and yeah .. you are always welcome into the night canteen. We often have visitors here and we would love to plan a short PG meet here.
Cheers
Ramesh
