NITIE - 2008 -2010 Admissions Queries

Hi people!!

i'm in last yr BE Comps. Mumbai University..
Can neone give me more info bout the PGDITM program of NITIE...
I've seen te course structure given on the website, but many of the topics seem to be a repeat of wat i've done in my Computer Engg so far.. So wont it be a repeat...

just wanted to ask,,,which marksheet/degrees v need....n wats the last date..i thot it was 30th bt sm1 here said 26th? i have completed my grad n rite nw i have only a provisional certi(sayin i scored more than 50% which i gt made for cat) and marksheets of different semesters...(not consolidated)..pls reply...

2. Is there any preference to of experience??
3. How are the placements and wat was last years average salary for various course?
4. what are the self addressed stickers required for ?

Hi CAT_ACT,

If u have completed your graduation then you need to submit the xerox of the final degree certificate, mentioning you have passed your engineering with first class. However, if you don't have one, then you need to submit a provisional stating the same as above. But, ensure that you carry your original degree certificate at the time of GD-PI.

Hey hd_catter,

Here are ur answers...
1. Its arround 5 minutes by an auto and 10-15 minutes walking from LnT Powai.

2. YOu need to justify the relevance of your work experience and your learnings and gains. As such when people are called for GD-PI both the work ex and non work ex aspirants are on the same footing.

3. As for placements we can simply say its awesome and getting bigger and bigger day by day. For all the official figures you can visit our college's official website NITIE website - Home or our website http://www.life.nitie.net/
Just a pointer, the average salary last year (Class of 2007) was 10.18 Lacs PA. Also for our summers we had the likes of Lehman Brothers, JPMC, American Express, Intel, SAP, IBM, PnG, HLL.... (list is endless)

4.The self addressed stickers are required for despatching materials with respect to your GD-Pi calls letters and further communication.

Regarding the dates, 26th is the date online form fillup closes. You can submit the form, documents and DD till 30th of Nov.

Also, you should get a proof of having a first class degree. Try to get a certificate for that if it is not written on your provisional certificate.

Hi Puneet,

Out of some 29 subjects that are covered, 19 are technical oriented. I agree that you must have covered some of these 19 subjects during engineering, or while working (as was the case with me). BUT the perspective differs. These subjects are taught with a managerial outlook.

Also, any new course structure is always very dynamic in nature in the sense that there are frequent revision. The same is with this course. We are in process of introducing some IT related courses. A few existing IT subjects would go away.

I am currently working in BHEL. wrote CAT this year bt getting a score of 97 only.....
reak up : QA-9, DI - 49, VA- 39
wat r the expected cut offs this yr.?? do i have ny chanceof getting a call from NITIE?
n will the work ex of 11 months pay-off?????
