IMS SIMCAT-2, Sep,9th 2007

Hi,
These are my scores..

DI-31(8C,1W)
PS-8(3C,4W)
VA-29(10C,8W)

Total-68(21C,13W)

Lost three additional marks in VA due to the differential marking scheme..
Maths has always been my achilles heel so cannot say if it was tough or i was bad..
Also can anyone give a estimate of what the cut-offs would be?

Since this is my first SimCAT(enrolled late so missed the first one) i have no idea how i have done.. so if anyone can let me know how my performance was it would be great..
and i saw some pretty good scores here.. keep rocking guys..

My scores are
DI - 62
PS - 37 = guess i`ll clear cutoff
VA - 23 = no chance of clearing cutoff coz IMS is going to keep it at a minimum of 25% of the section ie 30

Total = 122

The paper was fairly difficult..especially the verbal section..i found maths manageable.
My DI scores seems high but that is mainly coz few calculated guesses worked..

My take is overall cutoff 106 = 33% of total.
I dont see many people clearing all the sections as well as the overall cutoff.

My maxcat2 score - 99.07 percentile clearing all sections.

Any other inputs with regards to the cutoffs

That overall cutoff is only for IIM A...I suppose

Hey Puys

This was my first SIMCAT officially (not yet taken the 1st Simcat)

The first surprise was the -ve marking scheme

Found DI to be easy in this paper except the First set and the Hermoine Set The cricket set was a sitter, still I made 1 mistake in that set.
The DS questions were also doable

After spending 45 minutes moved to QA. Found it to be on the tougher side. Attempted 10 questions and then moven on to VA sections. Spent aroun 50-55 mins in this section (but get many incorrects)

Anyways moi scores in the order of attempt:

DI - 60 (16C, 4W)
QA - 25 (7C, 3W)
VA - 33 (12C, 10W)

Total - 118

My take on cut offs :QA: arnd 30 DI: 30-35 VA: 15-20 (most of the folks have found this section to be the toughest....)</p>

Hi Guys,

It was a real simulation of CAT...was a challenging one...after a slow improvement in scores finally getting some where ..Still a long way to go yet...

OA-90............lets c wat percentile it fetches fr me...
Need to Improve QA a lot ...English ...minimize mistakes.....RC 's taking my toll

Ya ure right dude..but IMS will definitely keep it @ 30 marks per section.
I dont see the overall cutoff going beyond 110 in any case.

At the Mumbai centre most of the people found the paper tough...which it definitely was..

My estimates on percentiles would be

80 = 92 percentile
> 85 < 90 = 95 percentile
90 = 98 percentile
> 95 = 99 percentile

These are purely my estimates. Does anyone agree with me
