To set the ball rolling can any 1 put up a systematic approach to attempt the 2nd set in DI ?It ll be a gud funda for everyone n v ll also learn how to attempt these set kinds of qs . My request is specially 4 the QA n DI gods like krsh,CAT 2007 ,prem bhai etc.. Plz post the approach

Go UDT Go!!! There is no point in losing steam!!! Ask prem bhai.... last yr, I dint even make it to the bench warmers of the UDT... mocks can get tough at times... but make sure that the standard deviation is not too high. No matter how difficult a paper is, if u refrain from panicking, u ll definitely get a 90-92 %ile. It is the journey upwards of the 95 barrier that will be the most difficult to scale... And if u panick for that last 6-7 extra percentiles, then u might fall back by an unexplicable margin ending up with 80 odd! So never panic!

Take 28...

At least how many of the people surveyed in Bangalore expected a min of two of the five listed qualities in the president?

So this by logic means - we want a max no of people to have a single liking of some quality right?

Now leave alone this question - what is the best situation possible - everyone likes the max no of qualities - ie the intersection between the qualities acc to Venn is large right?

So take the no of people who like one quality to be x
The best case happens when the remaining qualities are in a case of max intersection right - so all 5 qualities - take that to be y

x + y = 100
x+ 5y = 156

Me not clear about this set either...If i remember right, this was discussed in the concepts total fundae thread..But did not understand then..

UDTians, give us the proper explanation to this set and some procedure to be followed..

Seems like going no where ... lemme chart out a plan first ...

I am not taking november into consideration leave it for the engine to cool down

This is the list of things which need to be done compulosirly as far as i am concerned

AIMCATS 0820-0805 Revision which means having a clear cut picture of each and every question

CAT 02-06 PAPERS again each and every question need to be done thoroughly

I am leaving last five mocks to be revised during november coz they are the ones which will be alike CAT

Coming to each section

QUANT - Basics of all topics ... I will work more on Geometry since it is my achilles heel in quant

DI - Started doing ARUN SHARMA Guess it will be enough

VA/RC - heheheheh who knows what should be done u ppl suggest some good ideas abt what should be done ...

Having said all this ... we need not slog like anything burning the midnight oil ... Just work 2 hrs ... one hr in the mrng one hr at night ... dat should be enuf ... and 4 hrs during the weekends ... which will be 80 hours upto november 1st... Isn't that enuf

My plan for the days leading to CAT is as follows:

Quants: The irritating Arithmetic problems-Profit & Loss,Interest,TSD-,Numbers and Geometry.MEMORISING FORMULAE.

DI: Analysing EACH and EVERY problem in the AIMs so far. Have some old IMS material,hence will be doing those as well.

VA:Going in for Kaplan's GMAT book.Has helped till now. Will boil down to those tukkas on DDay I guess no matter what.

As an alternative, I guess, let us use THIS thread to discuss the AIM papers,once we return after taking them. Moreover, while we are surfing through the older ones and get stuck with a problem/hit upon a better method of solving the problem/deem the solution as inconvincing,let us post the concerned problem immediately here. I guess this should not be constrained to the regime of AIMs only, let us extend this to SIMs/CL Mocks as well.

Addressing the problem of team meets, I guess let us discuss and post the time on this thread. People who are seriously interested WILL come; the others I guess must be made answerable for their absence.Skipper I guess is the best guy to do that.

Unforseen incidents like a sudden personal committment, health/traffic hazard,political hungama might crop up. So, if the concerned member misses the bus, he/she misses the bus. Simple as that.

My net was down from 7. It has just been reconnected. All I could do in this time was pace up and down my room waiting for it to revive. Did I expect the meeting to be stalled because of this? NO WAY.

Let's look at it this way : If my net provider (or the city bus/train authorities , or the Indian Team , maybe even the influenza virus) conspires to disrupt the meeting, let us make sure the conspiracy is a failure by way of having the meet. In any case, our team consists of more than able members who would be able to bring to the absentees' notice, EXACTLY what went on in the meet.

I guess it is time now for the talking to stop and work to begin :
