First of all sorry I couldn't make it to the conference which didn't take place I was down with lotsa head ache

No wonders CAT-07 could have been of the same pattern ... of late IIMs r stressing more upon accuracy. Understandably, the final paper can be of a slightly higher level of difficulty compared to previous year's paper. But only one thing will not change ... The manner in which one has to maximize one's score ... which is picking the best in the lot This is wot i felt after giving these many mocks ... No strategy will work in all the scenarios Be it Stronger + Weaker + Moderate or Weaker + Moderate + Stronger(in the order u attempt) ... One's objective should be to clear the cut-offs and the overall cutoff One need to keep this in mind ... Hence in the first two hours one's focus should be on the first .. Next half-an-hour ... On maximizing the score that is clearing the overall cut-off ... Puys pour in your thoughts ...

coming to 0806

QA : 36(back again with a good score) 9a 9c
DI : 13 well didn't read two questions in the first set which I could solve in 3 minutes back home a silly mistake in the same set ... didn't mark a question in another set which was correct ... 7a 4c I felt I can get 6 correct and would be able to clear the cutoff
VA : 21 may miss the cutoff here ... I attempted 3 in the last passage and got all of 'em correct .. and TIME ppl say it is the toughest of the lot ... I attempted it after reading two rcs .. prolly the reason could be the momentum i gained ... again not sure ... any thoughts on this puys ?
14 attempts 7 correct

Overall : 70 would have been easily 85 ... the only difference between a 99%ler and 97%ler is bloody two questions ...

I felt really exhaustive during the exam ... gave DI immediately after doing RC ... any suggestion regarding this ???

bhai log ??? valuable suggestions ...

Hello UDT

Posting yesterday's mock experience as posted on the AIMCAT thread

Was giving the AIMCAT after such a long time!!! But the pattern of the paper didn't matter to me a lot bcoz the number of questions were same as that in the SIMCAT3.

But this being a TIME paper (the level of difficulty will be on the higher side), I thought that one would have ample amount of time for each of the section

As usual started with DI with the President wala set and left the section after going through the details and the questions. Then went on the Specialization wala set and did 4 questions from there with 1C and 3W (one silly mistake) . Then moved towards the Institutes wala set and got 3C and 2W here. And finally went to the first set i.e. the Tennis set and attempted 2 kostins from it and saw that 45 mins are over and its time now to move to the next section.

Then came the QA section, spent around 45 mins in this section too and the results were 8C and 4W in this section

Then came the English section, in which I am not able to clear the cutoff from last couple of mocks. Thought as the number of questions are really less accuracy will be the key factor. Went on slowly with the questions and marked them if I was fully confident on them. Spending around 50 minutes in this section the score was decent according to me. 10C 4W.

I didn't mark 2 questions in the sentence completion, but when chekced the solutions both the questions were correct So missed 8 marks here

Spent the remaining time on the 1st DI set, and got 4C 1W there

So the marks are

DI:- 26
QA:- 28
VA:- 36

Total:- 90

Now coming to the Mock 720 have already given the mock on Saturday but haven't checked the scores as was completely busy with the IMS Workshops on both Saturday and Sunday (6 hours daily). Will check the answers once back home and post it in the evening

Cheers!!!
Siddharth

Re: PG Underdogs Team (UDT) '07 - 01-10-2007, 11:13 AM

Puys ....

26th question)

How is it 139?
We need to find the max # of ppl who pick all the five options
For Mumbai the # of ppl picking each option are 42 32 42 25 27
now if u pick 25 among all ... then
17+7+17+0+2+25 = 68 < 100(It should be 100 or greater than 100) ... Am I missing something ?

i think the total comes out to be 139

26 25 26 18 15 29

theses are the min no of respondents in each city and they are the only ones who can vote for all the qualities
