It seems that this thread has become paradise for UDT 2006 members (including me) for spamming. There are more post by old members. It is very encouraging to see so much enthu in old members but let us give new members some space to take part here. ............With old stalwarts spamming here , new members may be hesitant to enter the fray.We can have another thread on chit-chat section to continue our banter........Lage raho. ...Arun.................. I would like to nominate myself for UDT CAT 2007

Its always good to have a blend of youth and experience in any team including UDT. I am giving my CAT for the first time. In time mocks, my scores have been typically 95 - 99.6 with couple of ~ 90%tile as well. I have got 99.xx two times, I am also quite sure about getting it on Nov 18th. Everytime my percentile blips, I am back with a bang in the next mock. Everything said and done, mocks are mocks.. and be ready for a star performance from this true Underdog

I believe everyone is born in this world to achieve something, there is a reason why each one of us are in this world.

Live this life, because if you don’t, you might as well be dead.

A number of us live life because life is life and we have to live. But let’s live life because we have dreams, let’s live life based on a mission and a vision of living. My journey started in my primary school, inspired by some good teaching and seeing some gr8 men on television. It made me think can I ever be there.

Having a thousand dreams in my eyes every night, I used to work hard and take part in most of the activities apart from studies also, life isn't cruel and I had my shares of achievements as well. I got a lot from it. Great friends to be proud of and good set of skills.

Used to be good at studies getting above 90 percentages in all my exams from tenth to engineering. The biggest challenge I faced was during my twelfth, getting into a college, sounds strange, but it wont when u know that there were 11 different entrance exams which I took, and that included spanned from big colleges of engineering to the portals of medicine. Probably everybody at home wanted me to join college of their choice.. Finally I made to a good college and understood more about life. My aims were not aligned with what I was learning, my skills were different and there started my CAT dream. I did well in CAT 2005, missing by 2 marks in quants but probably life wanted me to having something else before I joined my dream college for MBA. Experience. So, started studying for placement only after CAT was over and when two-thirds of dream companies had already come, because my first priority then was MBA. But I wasnt so unlucky, got placed into very good companies.

Next year I wasnt keen to do well, because 1 year of experience is not an experiece and I wanted to take some solid learning from work. So, now more than a year in job and setting to join MBA next year, I will write CAT this year to succeed. I have had past failures, I have had successes and I believe I will do well on D-Day.

Points in favour of me:

1. Already written CAT two times. Close misses each time. So good amount of experience.
CAT 2005- 98.2 percentile (Missed QA cutoff by 2 marks)
CAT 2006- 95.2 percentile (Missed VA cutoff big time 72 percentile)
2. Hell bent to crack CAT this time. Wont mind spending 7-8 hours per day on preparation.
3. Able to plan to plan and execute well (Atleast this time). Proof: Removed my inconsistency of scores.
4. Quite active on the forum nowadays.
5. Applied to UDT last year as well. So, give me a chance atleast this time yaar.

Reasons for being in UDT:

I will be able to score well and on any given day can break the hell out of CAT.

Will contribute in all senses possible and wont spam (I think they are related)

And one last point. Continuing from what Greenspan said, please dont put a strict restriction on the first point of top 100. There are many guys who are not good enough for DT but still are very good. We should not miss out on such talent.

I hope I will be in and will be able to give a fight to DT members soon. After all it is UDT who has to win this time..

My whole Journey until now

CAT - 2005 90%le
CAT - 2006 97.99 %le I got 23.80%le(Yes -ve score of -2) in VA

I joined PG in January if I m not wrong
Learned a lot here I improved a lot in my weaker areas too

I have scored pretty decently in most of the mocks ... I figured out thrice in top 100 I guess this shouldn't keep me out of UDT-07 ... VA has been my nemesis last two times .... used to get single digit marks in last year's mocks ... This year around ... am able to clear the cut-off 2 times and missed it coz of damn 2 questions ... in other mocks

Why me in this team ???

I guess this will be last time I give cat ... I am pretty much sure that I will do it this time no matter what I can contribute a lot on the QA and DI front on VA also about the pit-falls until now. Moreover, I can motivate all the members in the team ... to never give up . Let us tame the dreaded(not now) cat

Here I present my nomination for UDT 2007.

Why me?
Firstly, my scores aren’t mind boggling to earn me a place in DT 2007. I am capable of hitting big percentiles, but somehow I have managed to score between 95.64 and 98.4 percentiles only, nothing less, more importantly, nothing more. I have managed to score around 99’s in CF PreCATs and the Open IMS SimCAT (99.66). Though it is possible that my score drops below 95 + mark, its improbable. Check out my scores in repository.
My previous two CATs:
CAT - 2005 - 99.01
CAT - 2006 - 99.23 (Calls conversion. The lesser said the better)
Its most likely that I would be hitting a 99 for the third consecutive time.

Can UDT also be structured like DT\BBLT with a captain + 10, coach, reserve & soon , instead of just being a team of 21.....

Hey unkil, I have mentioned the team structure in my opening post.

The dates are not finalised though. I request the selectors to decide that. 1st october will be a good date according to me. Since we started early this year, the aspirants can be given more time to showcase their performances. Also, that would give the selectors good time to judge.

Hi guys! my reasons for being in the UDT team:

Mock CAT record: Have touched 99 only once. All other times, have been having a roller coaster ride between 89 and 98. Have no section as my strength and each time its a new section that either gives me the highest or else plunges me to the depths. . check out my scores repositary for more details.

CAT 2006: 97 with 93,94 and 95 in the three sections (Not having one strong section basically screwed me up)

Need to clear CAT at any cost this time. Its my only ticket out of my job.
