Had my first GD/PI of the season......so herz the experience
I had my GD/PI process on 1st february 2008.........
:sly:Had the * a.m slot, woke up at 6 and was feeling sleepy.....reached the centre at 7:45 ....had a sutta and went in..........
First all of us(45) were asked to sit in a room on 1st player......our groups had already been decide, then we were shown a presentation on SIBM and then 1 on lavale campus

I had my GD(case study) first..............the problem was
"Compusoft.......an IT firm with a 2000rs crore parent company, was given a project to be completed in 2 yrs by pharmco....................
they were going bt the schedule at the end of 1st year....but in 2nd year their speed & effeciency decreased........60 persons a month on project, at any given time.......they did some modifications on on their own to the requirements........result was they completed only 40 % of project at the end of 2 yrs......
now pharmco doubts the quality of work of compusoft, and have given them a deadline of 3 months to complete the project or else it will take back the project....
compusoft want pharmco to give an extra 8 months......moreover its askn pharmco to release payment(as it isnt paid any amount for the completed part)
as a MD of compusoft what will u do?

we discussed quite a few points
* increase workforce
* ask pharmco to give us payment for completed part
* identify where is the problem
* hire people with skills that r missing
* convince pharmco of our quality.....blah blah......

First we were given a psychometric test of 10 questions......
Then we had to rank sheep , cow, pig horse and tiger
Next came group task
This was the most thrilling part.....we were given a task to carry a football from one line to another line and then back to starting line with following constraints
1. we can not touch ball with our hands , arms or even shoulders
2. the ball can not fall on the ground
3. each os us(13), should handle the ball once in the process
4. 5 of us would be blind folded.
we were given 2-3 min to discuss........i was standing at the end of a horz row....moment he gave us the signal to start our discussions.......
i rushed to the centre........i have seen a bucket in the room....so i told my group that we can put the ball in bucket and then bucket can exchange hands to the end line & back to start line.........everybody agreed to my plan with some persuation......
then we were told to start........so i made evrybody stand in a line from start line to end line....the the moment i picked up the bucket P1 told me dat i can not use it.......then P3 turned me and said the whole group has conceived a stupid idea and we all will be disqualified ...............i was shell shocked.....
I always thought MBA is about out of the box thinking....
then P3 asked whose idea was this , i raised my hand and said mine
meri watt lag gayieee.........the he asked the group if we want to continue with some other idea as half of our time was ovet......we said yes......
I took the ball in my lap(as i was the first person) and held it tight using my chin.........and then passed it to the next person.........
we could only take it to the end line(cold not bring it back)................
some of the smart people in group said sir dont penalize only "vikas"(me) as it was the group decision....
then i said only i should be penalized and leave the group....hi fi funde
and P3 said nothing to worry i will be given only 5 negative marks
jaise 5 marks kuch nahi hote.....................
then we came out of the room...................bas itna hi hua GT main
