Looking at the overall scores in PG and those of my friends i don't think i have much chances of gettin an IIM call. My overall score can't be above 98.8 for sure. And with 70.5% in UG and 3 months work exp no IIM will consider me with a 98.5 .

I seriously think you are being too pessimistic. That break-up of yours is excellent, with a very good overall. 122 in this paper can't be less than 99%ile, no way buddy. You have been a regular at pg and you know very well the standards here. So, 1st thing you must have realised is that pg junta is way above the average, can't guess cut-offs on basis of those scores (add to that the fact that only those guys who have done well tend to post their scores). Even if you take pg as indicator, how many people you can see above 122? The number is not high at all. In fact the number is such that anyone would expect a 99.2%ile in AIMCATs if the same number of pgiteswere ahead of him/her. And this is not an AIMCAT, this is CAT, where at least 50% of the junta (I am being conservative here, actual figure should easily cross 75%) actually wrote the paper to boost your percentile.
From another point of view, 122 last year itself was 98.4+ %ile. Do you think this year's paper was even close to being as easy as last year? We all know about QA (I will be very very surprised if 90%ile in QA goes above 25. Same thing last year was 40). DI, easy but definitely not as easy as last year (1st of all, return for cracking a set was lot less. Last year we got 5 questions once we cracked a set, this time it's down to 3/4. And over the year, people have become so much into LR sets that I am very doubtful about speed in calculation remaining intact). Worst case, we can take it as of similar difficulty level to last year. Finally verbal and I must agree my 1st impression was this year will be better in terms of verbal scores. But scenario is not like that at all. Very very few people are above 35 (In fact, I can't remember more than 2). Last year, 35 gave a 99+.. This year also, it will remain same.
So, overall the paper has remained similar in terms of DI & VA. Definitely much tougher in QA. A fall of 15 marks in case of 99%ile score is a very normal (actually conservative) estimate. Last year, 99%ile was at 130. Calculate for yourself now.
Finally, don't be so pessimistic buddy, you have a very good score.. Enjoy, IIM Calls are on their way..

Hi Amartya,
I seriously feel that one should now move on and concentrate for the upcoming exams.
We have done all that we could in an exam called CAT and now it is upto them to do the
hardwork. I mean decide on the cut-offs etc.
Speculating about one's possible percentiles and calls only saps one off his energies.
Moreover, no one can actually tell you your percentile.
A rough idea, possibly yes, but that you can get by the predicted cut-offs.
And your guess will be as good as mine.
Please focus on the next job.

Thanks a lot guys for ur support.. rjt, sidharth, anirban, nitin, jlt ...
My reasoning was that 98.5 will be AIR 3000 approx. And considering this paper, there will surely be 3000 people getting more than 112. As you ppl said... it will be best to wait till jan wid a lot of hope n prepare for gd/pi also.. (i have applied to MDI as well)
Will start preparing for XAT now
