Back home after a long time.

Foremost, I thank all the puys who wished UDT(that includes me) luck while I was not around.
But more importantly, and indeed regretfully I have let many of you, including myself, down.

It was a debacle for me today. I will not go into what went wrong, but only into how wrong it went.

Scores as per the answer keys (TCY/IMS)...
VA 8/6(26) 8/6(26)
QA 6/3(21) 7/2(26)
DI 7/6(22) 9/7(29)...some qns not answered yet at tcy

Close friends would say wtf. But I won't complain.
I was genuinely and fairly beaten.

I salute all those who would have cracked this paper. And I am sure a bunch of UDTians indeed did. You definitely deserve it. But the battle is far from over. Keep your heads down and don't let the momentum go away. ATB.

As for me, I will still be around, and elsewhere (other bschool threads)... My salvation lies there...

It has been a privilege to be a UDTian, but the heart wrenches just a tad bit, for not having kept upto its standards. But I remember what Andy Dufresne wrote in a letter to Red.

"Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."

And I guess I have a lot many good things in me......Now where is the smiley where you feel numb inside, but you still smile and say "All is well"? Guess will have to do with this.

And the rest is history...today i am at the place, to be where i wud have refused thousands of IIM offers... (of course that is due to my passion for Human resources! )

And for you not even the results are out yet!!!
So shrugg off the sorrow.. pick up the gun...reload...and keep shooting...

U never know, you might deserve more than what u wish to receive

Surprised to see so few posts here post CAT. I hope its not because people had a bad paper.

I had a decent one, I guess.... Thats all I can say before checking my answers..... which I havent dared to, yet.

My attempts :

QA : 14
DI : 14
VA : 21

Total : 49

As always, accuracy will hold the key......

I dont know when I will check my answers..... Have had terrible experiences the last 2 years....

I really feel for you, Greenspan. I hope things work out somewhere else. I've gone through a hell lot of emotions in this CAT addiction..... It really screws you sometimes.

even i am among the downtrodden ones.
i have done miserably bad.
i am disappointed and not because i have done bad but because i lost the battle with my own self.
this is one thing that is more hurting than failure itself.
made a big time mess.

DI:16(i guess i got it wrong coz people said that it was the easiest section ever in DI, and here i am with scores that looks like the number of questions attempted).
now i'll be looking forward to IIFT,XAT,FMS,SNAP.(have no other choice, am forced to do it and the battle lost with myself is the reason)
But like the PHOENIX i will rise from the ashes.

After reading a few posts (greenie, sandeep et el.) above, I know its really sad but hope only momentarily
Many exams are still pretty much on and we just can't let things go like this. Anybody can play on some delivery, this is pretty normal in any great batsman's career. So just don't think what went wrong rather see this is like an opportunity where nature wants to test you more, may be because it knows that you worth more!....... Relax and show your true potential ASAP.

well i seriously dont know wat to expect.....
my scores r in the range of 88-98 as per various insti....plus tey all r predicting vastly different cut-offs...................................


on any other day i would have given a damn to it......but as the last dates of various very good and good insti is approaching...i m confused as towards wat could b my percentile !!??:

if someone could b kind enough to throw some light on tis !!!!!!

Hi guys.. sad to c not many posts here. Greenspan.. i really wish i can make u feel better.. but the fighter that u r i am sure u r gonna crack the other exams.

My scores first:

DI - 42
QA - 38
VA - 32 (TIME, IMS and CL)

Total - 112.

For the first time i have a problem with the overall score. And it has happened in the all important exam :( I don't know what to say. I have been feeling really low since afternoon. I have no option than to wait till jan first week i guess hoping that my overall score will be good enough to get a call (me having just 3 months work exp and 70% in B.Tech - so my profile is ... )

What a paper...!

Went pre-determined that I wouldnt allow the crowds to rattle me..And oh boy!..What crowds:neutral:...2.3 lakh people fighting for 1200 odd seats...:neutral:

Felt the paper to be of a couple of notches higher in quality than the 06 paper...

Stared with DI as has been this season...45 mins up and was not sure I would clear cutoffs..Planned to get back to this in the buffer...Wasted around 10 mins in the last question of the Veg males set..Had to re check my answers for remaining also because of the error..Why do such errors creep in when the paper passes through different panels for checks...?

Went over to VA..My "supposed" strength...Tough as hell i found it..Although there were no ambiguities...The RCs were way too inferential for comfort..Was reminded of my GRE big book passages...Spent 50 mins here and was pissed off as i intended to spend only 30 mins on VA...

Went over to Quant...Had a quick look around and decided that there were many questions where i could reverse engineer....Adopted this method and realized that the paper setters had been wise upto such tricks and thrown in options which yielded same results...Continued on and substituted much higher values for questions involving 'n'...Was wasting time simplifying expressions but after a couple of answers under my belt..Went ahead with confidence attending the remaining paper...

12 45 and my buffer time had started...Took a quick decision and continued with Quants...My weakest area...On hindsight, I should have gone back to a DI set which i had marked for attempt later on...

My expected scores acc to instis:

IMS/CL ............TIME

VA - 43 ....... 33
DI - 32 ......... 32
QA - 40 ......... 40

Total -115 ........105


DI holds the key i presume...VA keys again...4-5 answers vary between the instis but only 2 impact my performance...And one among them by IMS seems right to me as i have seen the source..The other one could go either way...Either ways...I remember only too vividly, the IIM VA keys of 06 and the discrepancies...

Done with this exam..Time to get back to normal life...

The difference between success and failure lies in tenacity...And thus, I am sure you will bounce back...Hell the VA keys could go either ways...

Badly want to throw the paper into my cupboard..Will do this today most probably...
