Hi junta...
Can somebody explain when to use the article 'a' and when not to..
What I know is if the object is abstract or uncountable, using 'a' is wrong, while it is to be used at other times.
for example: (not a very neat example though

)
This is heavy stone (Wrong) This is a heavy stone (Correct) If I bang this on your head, we shall witness a heavy bleeding (Wrong) If I bang this on your head, we shall witness heavy bleeding (Correct)
Firstly, tell me whether this understanding itself is correct.
Now, the point in case. I remember one
identify the incorrect sentences question in one of the aimcats in which the article
'a' in the sentence
~~~(blah blah) would cause a global upheavel was said as being wrongly used and in the question above it, the same logic didn't hold true.
Is my understanding too plain, as in just one straight rule to use or omit 'a'.
