As posted by the mod on talktime:

Reg - Qs. 11 to 15:

After a thorough review of the set, and carefully considering all the possible courses of action, it has been decided that the following answers will be considered correct for the questions in the set:

Q.11 - Both Choice(1) and Choice(4)
Q.13 - Both Choice(3) and Choice(4)

the answers to the other three questions in the set remain as given in the key and solutions.

Thanks and regards,
Moderator.

Reg - Q. 88:

The solution and the key given for Q.88 are correct. Please note that progress of man from "cave to civilization" refers to the social evolution of mankind and has nothing to do with the biological evolution "from primate to homosapien". Clearly choice(2)is out of context as the passage does not refer to this. More precisely, the statement given in para 1 "In popular culture this simple onward and upward view of human development extends back....While this is a parody of....". The "onward and upward" is metaphorically referred to as - north in choice(1).

Choice(1) alone fits in as the correct answer.

Moderator.

Thumbs up Re: [02-Sep-07] TIME AIMCAT 0809 Discussions - 03-09-2007, 09:38 PM

well, gave the test on sunday evening nd by that time the OMR sheets were off to Indore...so won't get an official score again...

i believe the scores n cut-offs would be more or less on the lines of 0810...n TIME's analysis confirmed that as well...

at 75.5 in 0810 i shud hv been at arnd 94 percentile (puys, can someone give me the exact pcntl)

this time, got

Section: Score (C/W)
VA: 49 (18/5) (with that changed key...well, keep them coming in )
DI: 28 (10/2) (still lacking the flow here, used to be my forte, but i guess, lack of practice helps no one!)
QA: 12 (4/0) (made a real fool out of me...i guess, it's time to stop working on those short-cuts n get down to basics,;divisibility by 13 n 17, shit man! even a 8th standard guy wud be aware of it)

so, a total of 89... shud fetch me a 96 pcntl...

so far so good, just need to keep moving up the curve...

one thing i got to mention here--i've been solving the SC's, PJ's n RC's on PG n watever i get in the mocks,i owe it to these awesome threads/// thnx to the practice i get here, i dnt feel like an alien in VA...

need to get back my fluent approach in DI n plus, get my maths score in to 20's (set small targets first )

but, talking of Quant in this particular mock--i say this to all of u who r struggling with the TIME' maths---

don't get oppressed by these kind of questions...to talk of the bright side, i think TIME is giving us some touch nuts so that we are better prepared for the C-day...

All in all, gr8 scores by our DT contenders (Basilisk, JLT, Greenspan (yes, i think u shud be there), anir-iim et al)

but i hv suggestion for ol u gr8 consistent performers, the last thing u can do here is to sit back n relax...considering that some of u performed awesomely well last year in the mocks, i think these mocks won't bother u guys much...but my point here is that the purpose behind this whole effort is to get thru the C-day this time...n, we all want u ppl to make us proud...so keep working on ur weak areas, as we can see this time with Basilisk's DI score...on a C-day, this might actually be the case...i missed the Quant cut-off in XAT'06 by a whisker so i realise how important it is to be comfortable in all the three sections and clear all the cut offs, irrespective of the kind of questions that come up...

feels gud to giv my two cents to the masters of the game
now, back to my prep

well, if anyone can PM me a few links to practice DI n QA, it wud be gr8...

the heat is on, puys...
