Bimtech Admission-2008 Queries Welcome!!!!!!

In today evening only I have gone through the SDM-IMD thread and came to know that there are a no. of candidates who were initially offered on spot admission to the institute SDM-IMD) but they havent received any letter or could not find their names in he shortlisted candidates list later on...and they are being deprived of any valid explanation from the institues.....
Atleast BIMTECH treated us better than this.... they only waitlisted us, later to declare that list to be of no value..

What is happening to all these institutes supposed to be having a good repute....!!

Hi motu jacob ,I am really confused regarding what to do...Bimtech has asked to pay Rs 30000 by 31 st for those who are in the waiting list.Now they say all seats are filled up.I really doubt this. I will be really greatful if anyone of you can confirm about this from the office. I tried calling them. But am not getting a proper response.Plz help us....

man dn't ever console...v gonna claim our demands n itz tr duty to b responsible... an open question...
1. whether each n evry candidate in the main list has confirmed his\her admission to the institute...
2.if yes...thank you for wait listing us...and itz time v got to prepare for cat'08 ... so that v cud score a %ile of 99 to acquire a seat in bim tech alias new IIM A...
3.if no...then y do u avoid the waitlisted candidates...?
plz seniors...dn't ever mistake me of being rude n impolite,

I had been to the admissions office today....
the explanation which i got from the admissions officer goes lke this-
We had expected a 40% conversion rate on the admissions offered....so we have given final offers for say PGDM to the top 120+some more students(he dint specify the some more) and then have prepared the waitlist....In case out of the some more that have been given final offer dont turn up then waitlisted candidates were called; he mentioned last year it happened that in PGDM 4 seats were left waitlisted students got a chance...however even in the last year as i have confirmed from my batch mates there is no student who got an offer thru waitlist in PGDM(IB)....so similar was the case.....
Now the worst part of the entire situation is that there shud be more transparency....I have already spoken to the director about the same....hope he does sumthin abt it...

I hv got admission in PGDM and hv filled d fee i.e. Rs. 1,59,000............. nw as other results r out and I hv been selected for other institutes(fore,lbs) too...................I'm confused a lot............... I'm nt sure of making it to BIMTECH due to unprofessional attitude employed by it......

1) They don't pick the call........... if at all they do so, they keep it aside and will not reply(I wasted a lot of bucks doing this)......... and in case they reply (i.e. 1/100), the person replying don't hv proper know-how, low communication skills, no manners.............and will say all the information hv been displayed on website.

2)Whenever u email them, they hv a same reply(i.e. they mention d course provided and fee structure).......I mailed them several times regarding refundability of fee, date of announcement of result, etc .........got d same reply everytime......

3)Regarding the refundability of fee they hv mentioned diffrently in prospectus and on website as compared to offer letter.

4)The result was declared on 11 night and most of the candidates were nt able to access the result via phone or email or website till 14.

5)Now d latest twist in the story is about waitlisted candidates.

Sorry if I sounded rude or impolite bt these r facts and it hurts badly.......... it also distort the brand image of the institution............

I hv certain questions in my mind?????

1) If I decide to opt out .......... where I need to make request for cancellation of admission???...........How much time it would take to get the fee refunded after requesting???????.......will the procedure be smooth or torturing????

2) If I opt out ......... will d vacanted seat be alloted to next guy in the waiting list on basis of merit or it would be filled by management quota????

Well to the fact that there has been unprofessionalism showcased at BIMTECH this year... well I can personally explain that in case of excess demand management system....At times of admissions there are so many people calling plus there is juss one counsellor to handle all queries...juss imagine so many applied and have so many queries.... regarding the fee refund stuff I have confirmed that the fees will be refunded....Regarding website issue....even IIM's has it when they upload the cat results I was able 2 see it on the 3rd day...so its technical stuff we cant blame bimtech 4 that.....
-for rude beavior I have given u the reason excess demand and low capacity to manage the services....
And with regards to waitlist....there is no twist or anything its all genuine...I have told u the reason behind the same....
Yes if you give up your seat....then it will given on merit to waitlisted and candidates...
And remember one thing Education these days is a business and not even the top institute in India are ethical enuf...I personally know a student who paid thru his nose... gota jack from some minister and now is in one of the top institute...
And regarding other bschools specially FORE and LBS( no comments... you better find out)
Finally its your decision....

Looks like Bimtech is just an institute for making money with zero ethics.
Anybody with common sense can make it out from their unprofessional behaviour and the exorbitant fees which they charge.
I dont mean to hurt the sentiments of the students who study there.
I know its not their fault.
