Nice Initiative. I hope we can have some meaningful discussions related to speedex here. I haven't yet solved them yet. But plan to do so in the next month.

This question is not for this thread - check out the thread on Geometry or Quant in general.
As for the Speeedx tests , well I have last years speedex - are they the same pattern or is there a marked difference in them every year. | | | | | The Following User Says NO Thank You to k_saksena For This Un-useful Post:

A train approaches a tunnel AB. Inside the tunnel is a cat located at a point that is 3/8 of the distance AB measured from the entrance A. When the train whistles the cat runs. If the cat moves to the entrance of tunnel A, the train catches the cat exactly at the entrance. If the cat moves to the exit B, the train catches the cat at exactly the exit. The speed of the train is greater than the speed of the cat by what order? (1) 3:1 (2) 4:1 (3) 5:1 (4) None of these
Relative speed equation taking distance travelled by train as X is all I have got. How do I process this problem further

Relative speed equation taking distance travelled by train as X is all I have got. How do I process this problem further | You don’t need to use relative speed equation, only proportionality concept. Let the total length of tunnel be 8. Cat is at 3 from A and 5 from B. Let the train be at distance ‘x’ from A. When cat travels 3 train travels ‘x’ . Similarly, when cat travels 5 then train travels {x+ 8 }. So Dtrain/ Dcat = x/3 = {x+ 8 }/5 . Solving for x, we get x= 12 So’ Dtrain / Dcat = 12/3 = 4: 1 S µ D Strain/ Scat = 12/3 = 4: 1 Hence answer is (4-1) : 1 = 3: 1

here is my performance in SpeedEx-01 (english Usage)
attempts: 13
correct :8
Score: 27/100.
i did it almost two to three weeks ago.
i am concentrating more on Reasoning.
ok, i have a question.
if i am getting 27, am i clearing cutoff for IIMs?
am i clearing cutoff for other institutes?
.
.
lets guess ourself.
i think cut off for this section would be 32 +. Quote:
