I called up admissions office and luckily got the line,and the madam told that if ur DD is received ur admission is confirmed.They will send the receipt by post but it will take some time.Offer letter we will get this week

i sent the dd on tuedsay last week..tried calling up imi and i am not able to get through the admin department...hope my dd was received beofre 200 dd's..

Hey Ruchika,

There is absolutely no need to download any acceptence form. I sent my draft a few days back accompanied by a hand written letter mentioning my CAT registration number, my name and the draft number. I called up admissions office today and was told that my draft has been received and admission is confirmed.

Oh, one more thing, do write your CAT reg number on the back of your DD as well.

Even I had called the day after(on 19th) n got it confirmed that the DD has been received, but the thng is we dont have any documents with us.
Everytime some person from the A/C s dept. receives n says its ok, 'mil gaya' types ans. but I was expecting some solid evidence.

Today I went a bit far, was really persistent abt knowing
wat if more than 120 ppl submit, it is still being accepted,
wat is my serial no. of DD(i.e. how many ppl submitted b4 me)
&
How many ppl have submitted till datet .

he was tightlipped, passed the ph. to some senior, same response there.

But wat was shocking was:
When I said I need the 'Payment receipt' n it will b useful for Bank loan.so when can I get it ?

that chap told:
'Abhi too yeh yahan hai, jab ap yahan aaoege ,mil jayega ' ??!!

I have to go all the way to DElhi to collect it ??!
told him to give the call to his senior,n said to him that Ratna ma'm told it will b sent by post to those who sent DD by post.
he said :
' Toh thik hai, post mein mil jayeha'

Seriously, dint like this uncertainties of the A/C s staff, they seem to b in the dark.NO communication amongst varios ppl.
I really dont know if we can bank on their words ?!:-|

Am a bit apprehensive now.

wonder why these people r bng so vague abt everything
starting from the payment receipt to the hostel accomodation thing...
the regular reply to all queries seems to be...ho jayega!!

even i'd sent off a mail to Ratna ma'm to confirm whether they'd received my DD...
she replied back saying yes they had and my admission is confirmed...

but i wonder...this is what is being said to each n everyone...then how does the FCFS thing work...everybody seems to getting in...:-)

Don't get panic. Please read the previous posts also. The guy who is collecting your fees is also collecting our fees. So he is not sure that how come he can tell you from receipt number. The head of accounts will again not been able to tell you the exact number as he's not doing all this task. That's why he's giving you vague answers. Hold on, keep your mind cool. None of you will be disappointed.

There is no such thing as FCFS now. They are accepting DD from all the 247 ppl and they are sure that ppl will drop out later. So finally thats how they'll arrive at that magical 120
