hmmm sorry to act as Devil's Advocate but whats the point of asking prospective students to check out the ranking and even placing them in the website...when everyone knows the Great B-Skool Ranking Game...... How will we react when in another future ranking we get a down to dumps rank (in this game anything is possible) and ppl ask us why are we not projecting that rank...

As always stated and believed....showcase what you have..strong facts..like facs..placements...alums...infra... just pure numbers..n then let the prospective students take their call by doing an apple to apple comparision...

As a matter of fact we always get scewed up in infrastructure parameter.......how many students care about it........some skools score high on international linkages...how do we judge their real effectiveness...we always score high on intellectual capital...but are students looking at it?

Just a few comments....but in IMI, its always on the present students to devise the marketing strategies.... so hope the strategy works

i wanted to know a few details abt the 1 yr executive course.

1. admision criterion....
2. placement
3. how good is that course in compared to the 1 yr programme of grat lakes and isb....
4. data is not that sufficient in website.
5. whats the anual intake and when will the session open.....

Regarding your second query, I would like to say that our faculty is our core strength & we have experts from all the specializations. The inclination towards finance is just due to the market trend.

Thanks for ur assistance to the members vying for an admission into IMI. I have a query regarding work ex pepople? I have five years full time work exp. with three years in Ghana. Now first time i am apperaing for CAT. Educational Background BTECH(Elect)-IITR with honours and Good in HSC and SSC exams, what percentile score will be good for me to get in and what are the expectation of the faculty from the candidates?? How rigourous is the selection procedure??

Hi Deepak,
As far as IMI is concerned, I believe a percentile around 96 will make your position secure for a call. But obviously the more the better because CAT is a very uncertain exam. Faculty expectations are not there. What they bother about esp in the interview is about your knowledge regarding your area of work as well as your branch of engg. The selection process definitely is as rigorous as in case of any other B School. The only difference is that instead of GD, we have an Extempore to judge your verbal skills.

1. What package (MAX-MEDIAN--MIN)
can be expected for a Person HAVING two year of work ex ......

2.And The percentile score (min ) for a 2 year work ex person to get a call from IMI
3.Do a good Acad performance in Graduate level and school level matters ...

In addition to the aforementioned questions in the previous post pls also elaborate... Does IMI look at any sort of sectional cutoffs while giving calls for GD PI? Also, I will have two years of work ex in sales /by the time i join this course(if i do). Will i be eligible for lateral placement

As per the trends goin on, I believe you can expect an average of 10 lacs. Max, min or median i am not able to anticipate.
The percentile score till last year for PGDM was 95 with a sectional cut off of 50 %tile. So this year expected is 96+ with slight increase in sectionals.

I understand that there are many queries regarding placements and I'll try to bring some one from placement committee to address those queries.

Regarding Acads, they do matter in the post CAT selection process but the main weightage is of ur Extempore & interview.
