And also the fact that is an overall %ile acceptable to IMI or there is a minimum limit which must be cleared in all CAT sections. | Hi Saksena,
As per changing trends IMI has started preferrng work ex candidates, but that does not mean freshers wont be encouraged. Give Cat your brst shot at around 95-96 you should get a call from IMI. Once you are in..your cat percentile does not matter, your overall personality/acad performance/performance in essay, extempore,pi matters

ciao.. | I would like to add here that in our batch(07-09), cutoff percentile was 95 and there was a sectional cut off of 50%. And this is bound to go up this year. So make ur best efforts becoz the only certain thing about CAT n MBA is uncertainity

N for your information, the parity in last year's score was very much, people with 98-99%tile overall score had 33%tile(0) or even less. I know a person with overall score of 99.81 ,n still no IIM call. So don get bogged by overall score.
But it is a totally internal matter, i.e. depends on the institute's policy. For e.g IMT had just an overall cut off n they had not considered sectional cut offs.

Hey guys!
i saw the placememnt link and in the profile of 07-09 batch for PGDM i found that 86% odd intend to specialise in finance and 35% in mktg. I dint understand the above data coz the total goes beyond 100%. Plz clarify on that.
Also, looking at the high % of ppl opting for finance at IMI, is it that IMI is more popular for finance than mktg or does it have to do with the faculty?
cheers,

Thanks for pointing out the mistake. I believe its just a typographic error which will be rectified asap. Further, if you want to see the actual picture early, I think you can go through individual student profiles.
Regarding your second query, I would like to say that our faculty is our core strength & we have experts from all the specializations. The inclination towards finance is just due to the market trend.
Regards
