she said that if later any place is vacated then outstation candidates would be given first priority...
But it seems that i might have to search for my own accomodation

List of people offered red hostel accomodation
http://www.imi.edu/Admin/WhatsNew/Up...ellist2008.pdf
with girls residing in the on campus hostel , it means that the rest 33 have been given the off campus hostel...
that means is 43 is the full capacity for the offcampus hostel

Has everyone received the hostel letter till now??? I haven't received it till date.... although my name's on the list displayed on their website..... Can I pay directly to them without receiving the letter??? Would there be any problem in getting the draft (for hostel) from the bank (from where I got my loan sanctioned) without any letter from IMI???

dude if ur loan is sanctioned then you would not have any problems, but i think instead of u giving the draft to imi it should the bank
Once ur loan is approved you would not have to worry about such things, in case the bank delays then u can kay 55k from your accoount and later IMI would rembrst the whole 55k back to u

Ya but atleast I have to show some proof to them, some letter or so to the bank officials.... Also, would they send the draft directly to the college as you mentioned?? I thought they would prepare a draft in the name of the college and hand it over to me. I would then have to send it to them. Please clarify.
Regarding the hostel, it's quite surprising to see that only a few have been allotted hostels.... I thought there were quite a few rooms available for us.... Even Nikhil had posted the same thing earlier as well... Wonder what caused the sudden shortage....

Buddy if differs from bank to bank, best is that you should talk to the bank as soon as possible, i am not sure if the bank would give the draft to you, did u mention the hostel accomodation in the fee structure breakup? I think you are lucky to get a loan sanctioned without any letter from IMI because in my case a lot of documents have been asked for and thats why i would have to pay the first dd (1.42k) and hostel fee(55k) provided i get accomodated from my pocket.Sorry my parents pocket as i am still a fresher .
The hostel crisis is really surprising because i did not expect this from a reputed institute like IMI but such things can happen if the programmne is no residential.
Anyways seeya at IMI soon mate....
