hii nikhil,

i was just wondering whether i will get any hostel room or not since i am from meerut.. though meerut doesn't come in NCR region but its hardly 60-70 kms away...

though personally i feel it doesnt make any difference if smone is coming from antarctica or meerut as they wont be able to commute daily..

nyways, is there any kind of preference order being followed at imi while giving out hostel rooms??

Yes
HR students also study the basic subjects like accounting , Fin Marketing. We also study HR subjects in 1st year. But the only difference is that for them, there are more HR related subjects and stress is on them, for PGDM, it's the other way round.

You'll definitely get a hostel. Merrut is too far for a daily up down yaar. Even ppl from Ghaziabad get hostel in the 1st list itself. So don't worry about that....

For Puys, who got thru PGDM, has anyone approached the banks for edu loans ?

If yes, what is the response that they got ?

Was thinking if we(all PGDM admits) could get jointly get loans thru some bank, after reaching d place, if IMI has any tie-ups with any nearby babk( most bschools do have such tie-ups).

Kyonki kuchh ho nahi raha hai. Intezar ke alava.

And a little speculation:

Based on the fact that IMI hasn't mentioned a date for a waitlist, leave alone put one up, I'm going ahead and assuming that they are over-booked. More than the 120 seats.

They will, of course, never reveal this, lest the junta panic. But being sure that sufficient number of people will cancel the admission to make space for the extras, they are just reassuring the students that everything is fine. I do not disagree. I'm sure it will be fine. There'll be heavy movement once the IIM results come out. And I'm even expecting a waitlist after that. So there's no worry. All I'm saying is that it could be that more than 120 ppl have paid their fees. And IMI, knowing that things'll be fine in due course are just waiting for the events to unfold.

<end speculation>

I agree with you on this point that IMI may be having more than 120 people admitted for their PGDM course at this point of time and this is precisely the reason why they haven't come out with a waitlist or a date for it. But as you mentioned, I don't think it's going to be a problem for us later. Many of the admitted ones are playing the waiting game, waiting for IIMs and other colleges, depending on their preferences.

Any other speculations??? Otherwise this thread doesn't seem to have much life left :(

Hey dude i think u r mistaken...I have PM'ed one of the seniors and he mentioned here also that ...after all 120 seats got filled , there was 20 cancellations ( it was on 13 april)...so i think they are just waiting for IIM results so that they can be sure of any more movement in waitlist...Later they can give precised number of calls to fill the vacant seats....
IMT have many waitlisters who are admitted in IMI and they might be thinking of moving to IMT...any thing is possible....:hurray:....I hope IMI comes with waitlist having my name in it:gunsmilie:

Till now NIRMA .....:rockon:
