Welcome to your own online repository for your mock scores this year (-07). Please go through the rules and the ways you can benefit from this thread, below.


The idea is on the lines of this thread that already exists.

We will just do it in advance!

Rules:

• Each member will post one and only one post (hopefully ), having all his mock CAT test scores, AIR, et al, for this year.

• He will edit his post as and when he writes a new mock and gets to know his scores (could be a test from any institute)

• A strict format(template) will be enforced which has to be followed to enter the scores. (Read further below)

• The member may post his strategy used in various mocks too, in his post (such as Basilisk and krishor)
• You may include your previous CAT scores, if this is not the first attempt.

It will help in the following ways:

• Maintains an online repository of mock scores for puys

• Inspiration can be sought from great scores and consistency, and comebacks. Needless to say, what you get from this thread depends on your attitude.

• Selection of Dream Teams(which will require this anyway in another thread) will be easier

• Profootball25's post in the above thread http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/803742-post105.html will be avoided. As he says, it is tougher to get hold of the puys after CAT to post their mock-scores.

Format:

The format is necessary to maintain clean and complete posts, which will be easier to read, and will convey a lot more in lesser space. Kindly adhere to it.

• Non-Finalized results: Institutes such as CL, CF, etc, upload the OMRs in batches, resulting in a gradual change in percentile and AIRs. It is hence wise to edit your post, say on a Wednesday, after the results are finalized. (Hat-tip: Basilisk)

Strong Area : EU/VA
Strategy : Start with RC, so that i can settle with my concentration. (I believe RC needs the least conc among all the areas in CAT). Then in to VA, then Quant/DI.
One more thought (after reading JLT's strategy): As soon as u get the paper, calculate 33% (most likely CAT cutoff) of total marks, and keep that in mind while attempting questions. There by you can refrain from attempting too much or attempting too less.

in 0806, again started with VA, comparatively good performance, but faltering again in DI.

Strong Area - DI, QA not that far away (maybe as I always do it last, i cannot do full justice to it but its my most reliable or steady section)
Strategy 1 - followed in all mocks till 813 and MC 3
DI (45 mins), VA (with an objective to attempt fully), QA (time left).......if VA finished early, do QA 45 mins, then decide on what to do depending on difficulty/time left.......
Strategy 2 - Done for fewer mocks (from 812 and MC 4) but with good results - Here I do VA first giving it at max an hour then divide time equally between DI and QA, here too may make changes mid way through the paper if DI was tough/easy.......
Observed changes by applying strat 2 - DI percentile decreased from high 99s to low 99/high 98......QA evergreen, VA - going better
