Ok guys! This gives me inspiration to try once more...but then one question which u pros can only answer!!
With special reference to Commerce Grads (B.Com) what did u guys do after Graduatio alongside your CAT preparations? Specially as that ended up saving your skins and careers in the past years when u still didnt make it to ur dream placE?
My concern is - What shall i be persuing to ensure MBA is not the only rescue to my career dream?
How about M.Com??? Where will that lead me..? How about it thru correspondence?

hi menaina,
I am also a commerce graduate (B.Com.) I think M. Com. won't lead you anywhere if you really want to look for a career to rescue from MBA, then i'll suggest you to do CA or CFA, see these professional degrees do count even when you do your MBA, so its a win win situation for you and by pursuing these courses you will also have a practical aspect of looking at things rather than just theoritical which we have till our grads.
I before cracking MDI last year was working as Management trainee and i also did my CA along with so it added value. So if you want you can go ahead with it, rest your the best decider for yourself

Hi,
I can probably contribute to solving thy dilemma. For me the choice worked out of circumstances, but you can work towards a solution by eliminating options.
1Eliminate BPO and call centers for obvious reasons
2. Eliminate correspondence courses
3.eliminate part-time mba programs
4, do not just prepare for cat....we should keep working.
I was lucky to get a marketing job. I know that it will put me in a strong position if compared to if i did a call centre job. try something like sales, or into creative field like advertisisng or banks.
this would be my 3rd attempt ( if my parents don't push me off to mdi or fms!!!!)...
got 96 the first time...97.8 the second, at this rate ( +1. should be getting 99.6 the next time...
killing my time at a s/w cmnpny these days...
Nothing is right or wrong...its all a matter of perspective.
hi !
2 attempts (excluding cancelled CAT)..
2002 0 prep= no calls ( applied only to IIMS)
2003 5 months prep = (ashamed ) B and L... waiting for the results now..
If am not able to convert these calls... wondering whether to give it another shot or no !! hoping for the best this time... Lets see...
pleaase wish me all the best
all the best to all PGites too

OK, after readin this thread, i will be honest....I am a bit scared.
To say that call centre jobs do not make any difference....??????
I have 1 year work exp in a call centre as a technical support exec, though the job profile was a lot different and it involved a little technical expertise in a gaming website on the internet. Also, my company is the world leader in that field with a daily profit margin of more than $300,000. Hell its like a gold mine!!!!!!
so all you PGites, wanna hear you out......does this experience not count at all ??????
and I am also plannin to write CAT this novemeber, so need your help oh mighty ones.....
