IIM and CAT preparation materials and tests - 26-07-2007, 02:36 AM

Hello guys,

This is Joshua Ingham. I am a new poster, originally from Colorado but now living on the West Coast of the United States. So this is an introductory email and has quite a bit of superfluous information.

Some years ago, I had visited the Himalayas and Nepal, made a trip over to India, where I was stranded because my passport was stolen. To complicate matters, there was trouble when my friend from Colorado was arrested on a drug-related charge in Bombay and I had to extend my stay there for several weeks to help out this friend.

I was very low on cash and a super-kind student from IIT-Powai had gone against his IIT regulations and accommodated me for nearly a month in his dorm.

My girlfriend is Indian via UK (she was born and raised in Chicago, her parents born in UK, grandparents from Mahhkattrastra State). I met her because my email addy then was joshi@___ and she was curious because that was an Indian last name that some of her relatives shared. So she had emailed me, I responded that I was Josh Ingham and sorry I wasn't Indian, but I had made a trip down to Bombay once. That piqued her curiosity, we met, started dating and are now together. Actually we just got married in court 3 days ago, so I should stop calling her my gf (old habits die hard). Anyway, it is so much cooler to call her my girlfriend than my wife.

Anyways. She mentioned to me that many Americans now go to China, occasionally to India, for medical treatment because of the low expenses. And we are at the very bottom of the financial scale in American society, which means I make minimum wage and cannot afford the MBA programs in the USA. So I was planning on pursuing management education at one of the IIMs (esp IIM Amdabed) or XLRI or Bajaj in Mahhkattrastra State. It would also give me two years to learn more about my wife's culture and roots in India and give her a chance to learn the Bharat Natyam dance, which she is fascinated with.

I have heard the IIM and other entrance exams in India are much more difficult than the American GMAT, so I am at a complete loss on how to prepare for the tests. The U.S. Kaplan and Princeton Reviews seem inadequate, so I would appreciate it if you can email me any of the IIM entrance test materials and sample tests.

I won't be hanging out on this forum, so the best way to reach me is by email: <snip>

I would very much appreciate any preparation materials and sample tests you could email me that would help me prepare for the IIM and other Indian entrance tests.

Thanx
Josh Ingham

wish u all the best....

Those people who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do.
