Hello all...

now that all mocks have started... today was PT's second Prac CAT.. a decent paper... with an avg difficulty level.

25 questions in each section..
(+4, -1)

maths was comparatively easy.
DI was the toughest according to me..
English was very much similar to CAT 06. (3 RCs, 5 FIJs and 5 para conclusions).

do post in your scores here,,

here are mine -

QA - 20 (6/10)
DI/LR - 16 (5/9)
VA - 36 (10/14)
total - 72 (21/33)

accuracy not at all upto the mark... majority of the questions were with the 'None of These' option... thats whre i screwed up in DI/LR and QA... could have done better there... Eng was satisfactory...

but u find qa easy? i find it much tougher in comparision to cl/ims/time (all mocks i hv given till now ) may be coz i was already exhausted...
i wrote 3 mocks in 25 hours :-0
DI was almost undoable :-/

my scores
QA- 33
DI- 23
VA- 40

OA- 96

btw how to check cut off and results in PT....
if they hv put analysis.... please share here

same here...

i also gave 2 mocks in 6hrs... Prac CAT being the second.. so thats what made it a bit exhaustive!...
and yeah the paper was tougher than that of IMS ... i havent taken the AIMCAT yet.

hello all...

sorry for the late response.. but i couldnt find any analysis on the PT site either..

the faculty at the centre told us that the sectional cut offs would be 7 questions in each section that's a score of 28 in each... and the overall cutoff would be 95-105..

as far as the analysis is concerned here's what i analysed from the test...

QA -

questions 1,2,4,6,8,11,12,14,16,17,24,25 were doable...

15,19 were a matter of clicking at that time...

so attempting twelve questions with about 9-10 right was ideal..

DI/LR -

this was tough overall... with a mixed bag of types...
i found the 3rd and the 4th set worth doing ... after i analysed... but i attempted 1st and 5th in the test!

2nd and 5th were full of calculations and 1st had a lot to interpret...

so here again... around 10 attempts from the 3rd and 4th set... with 8 corrrect was managable ... considering that one gives full 50 mins to DI/LR...

VA/RC -

yet to study but.. this was comparatively easy...
the RC i found worth doing was the Holocaust one... some direct questions...

the para conclusions and FIJs were all managable... so they were the key to score here...


that was all i thought ... would love to get some inputs as well...

wat th heck dude...are u nuts...watever...last year i used to give PT test series... i dunn know but the mocks they gave were really weird...i hope thngs are better ths year...

hi ... yeah thats what i also heard from many of my seniors... my own bro was a PT mock CAT taker... and he also has the same views... so he's keen on making me to take the time aimcats...
as im a PT student i can take Prac Cats as well...but this time i guess PracCats are quite good... the only question is whether i can get a realistic ranking from the PT AIRs...

still let's see... i am planning to give both AIMCATs and PRACCATs...

hello....

im very much sure that youve cleared all the cutoffs pretty easily...
the cutoffs are..

va - 28, qa - 28 and di/lr - 20

still i shall give you the booklet number... 0112224270..

and i am very much sure that you are in the top 30 according to the PT AIR list. thats the aad part about it!.. i mean ... although i am scoring this less (72) in the test i am AIR 101 with an unbeleivable 99.5+ %ile.. you can imagine yours!

thats where PT is lacking as the AIR we get here is completely off track the original... otherwise the quality of papers is pretty decent.
