For all those staring at the Question "Shud i choose Glakes?"...here are my 2 cents worth...
  1. Glakes is a 1 yr Post grad Diploma in Management...it does not have AICTE approval..so what?..a lot of courses dont have it..as pointed out by Noel...
  2. Look at value for money and ROI...spoke to a few friends of mine at Glakes current batch....the input i received was that a lot of profs are real gud and quiet a few are from international univs...they come down for a few weeks and take classes and leave...what i want to know is how is this different from an ISB?...how many B schools in India have every prof as a permanent faculty and available 24x7 for interaction with students???
  3. What you learn and take away from an MBA depends on 2 things..(my view completly..:-))...your ability to grasp and understand concepts and the kind of ideas that your peers share...given that a major chunk of students in Glakes will we professionals wit 2+ yrs of Exp I am sure that what I can take away from a Glakes will be a lot more than what i might have got from a Bschool which has 50% of its batch as freshers...(Freshers and people with less than 2 yrs of Exp..pls dont kill me for this...)
  4. Coming to the the bottom line of the MBA Bschool business...Placements...for all those who are crying out loud regarding double digit CTC placements of various other B schools, I request you you to kindly talk to students and check on the actual packages that are offered...in fact would recommend the PG article on demystifying Bschool placement stats...Hell i know of guys from IIM's who are placed in MNC's with packages of 7 LPA...I dont hear any1 talking about that?Guys and gals take a reality check and you will realize that CTC is not everything.
  5. WRT to comments posted by Insider on various blogs...there are bound to be people in every Bschool who are disgruntled with the system and the process and feel that they have been let down because they did not get the profile/package that they wanted or because the Bschool was not up to their expectation...End of the day its a compromise....thats the fact...all that matters is how much are you willing to compromise
I have got through Glakes and am planing to take it up...all i have said above are my views...i am sure most of you here are capable of using your discretion in considering what i have written above ....

Cheers
Rj
I hope that GLakes comes up with it's placement stats for 2008 to placate the concerns of prospective students....

First thing first dude........i dont know by posting that ridiculous blog here in the forum how ur helping the cause of other guys here. Apart from the fact that like last time the claims smack of a personal vendetta and is certainly not a handiwork of an insider ( as claimed by our frustrated-cheap publicity seeking blogger) its also against Pagal guy forum rules to post negative comments about any MBA college. I would appreciate if u keep that in mind next time u decide to bring outside dirt to P.G.

Secondly if u want reply then my buddy Bhaski has already has posted wht he thinks about the issue http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/b-scho...t-mgmt-85.html

However let me share my own opinion on this mate. Frankly speaking i can rip apart every argument given by this outsider claiming to be insider. Not because i am good at doing it but simply because what he has stated are facts which either are so commonly known that it is on our website or are blatant lies. The real question however is that as a reputed institute which is growing at an incredible pace does GREAT LAKES need to issue a justification every time an anonymous frustrated blogger decides to kill his time by writing a blog??? My answer to that ppl is an emphatic NO. Its our word against a nobody l (who btw himself is not clear about his own identity!!) and its on u puys to take a call. Frankly speaking if sumone is so chicken hearted to get terrified by negative comments then i would ask them to reconsider their decision of getting into management profession as life wont be bed of roses here and success will bring with its own set of critics.

Great Lakes in next few years will be among the top B-schools of the country doomsdayers not withstanding ......its a fact which will unfurl in years to come. I leave it to the maturity and discretion of ppl who have got calls from GL to be a part of that journey or not......

This is again an example of "Irresponsible management". I say this Irresponsible because, once you have suggested that waiting list would be out by 10th March, then you have to stick to it. Because if you proclaim yourselves as one of the best then you must show the traits as well.

Why does great lakes claim that it would bring out the wait list on 10th when they cannot do that. Now they claim it on 15th and i say this is setting a poor example.

Hi..
Would just like to chime in on whatever reaction there is on this thread regarding what Insider said..
i wonder why some ppl are taking this junk so seriously..
It has been discussed on Pg so many many times and already the blog has received 75 views and some comments too...Does it really need this all this attention..

makes me wonder if I post something on GLIM.. would my blog also receive this much attention..;-)

and all those who got shortlisted and are still having doubts regarding this insti.. i wonder what u guys said in WHy MBA from GLIM in the intw.. do not those points strike u again???

and this i am saying even when I have even not been shortlisted :(
