Great Lake is a gud upcoming coll but we cant say they are better thn UK B schools..
In my 4 points where did I mention this?
Also, did I say that Asians there are not doing well?

UK schools are good no doubt. But my point was that they are not recognized outside the UK.

I don't think I made strong statements too. They are facts which needed mention so that people can make an informed decision on their careers and MBA.

Please check these for costs:

Exodus: A million Brits emigrate while three million enter | the Daily Mail

Anorak News Blog Archive | Ten Million Britons Looking To Flee The UK

Record Number of Britons Leaving Sinking Ship UK for Better Life Abroad

"Taxes are so high in Britain now that a person has to work 5 months in a year before they start to make any money for themselves "

For new migration laws:

Voice of Britain's Skilled Immigrants - Home - read all the changes in laws within sub-links.

NRIs protest 'discriminatory' UK immigration laws

I never said the same against the US or Canada. Infact, Canada has wonderful laws and protected regulations for skilled immigrants. I am sorry if I have hurt anyone here, my intention was to voice my opinion rather than pick up a squibble online.

Last but not the least - I have calls from US and Canada myself. So this is not a case of sour grapes. An investment of 50 lacs on an MBA should be done after being fully aware of prevalent laws and conditions of the location of the institute. Else, 5-6 good years of your post-MBA career will be annulled just repaying loans.

Cheers....

Hi rec2mba ,

Pl find my reply just below the doubt u've raised :

1. Low RoI. The minimum opportunity cost is 50L and the taxes are sky high. So a repayment in 1-1.5 years is virtually impossible!!!:razz:uppydog:

Reply-- Pl see the link below. Most of the UK b-schools have high ROI(I think FT must
have collected enough facts before publishing the rankinkgs.)
Except LBS,the total cost for doing an MBA from a UK bschool range from 22L to
36L.

http://media.ft.com/cms/1a8b39e4-c80...00779fd2ac.pdf

2. Not recognized outside the UK (Except London.edu - which is for the creme-de-la- creme)

Reply-- Pl go through the individual websites of UK b-schools before giving expert
comments on this point.

3. UK labour laws are terrible for Asians - with the new HSMP modifications.

Reply-- Partialy true for those ppl who don't have any MBA degree.MBA grads don't have
to fear regarding this.

4. Extreme racism with every Asian viewed as a tube bomber.

Reply-- I agree there have been some instances against some asians(also happened with
ppl residing in US or Canada). So,a general statement for the asians was really
unwanted.

The same FT rankings grade ISB(20) above Kellogg(24)

Also, please read the new migrant laws in the link I provided above. An MBA in UK or otherwise, they hold good.

Once again my humble apologies if facts hurt. Signing off.

Hi rec2mba,

I agree to ur point that FT ranks ISB(20) above Kellogg(24).But there must be some facts behind this. It's better to approach FT rather than me.

If one does an MBA from top 8-10 universities in UK,then he/she automatically gets HSMP.Even all post-graduates ppl get 2 yr work-permit after the completion of the course to work in UK.

My post/reply is wrt to MBA course/jobs only.Nothing to do with the general condns of the asian or labour laws.

Did not get through. Was really hoping to get selected.
But i think its not me alone, everybody had a kind of GD/PI that they thought having a good chance of being selected.
Any ways ATB to the selected puys.

Hi Group,

My Hearty Congrats to all the Meritorious Students who have finally converted their call
and have got a chance to pursue their MBA from a reputed B-School like Glakes.

For me its another reject after SCMHRD. Finding it very difficult to face the truth.
Am trying hard to find an anwer "where I went wrong", but still in-vain. Was somewhat confident of getting thru the GD/PI process of this Great B-School.

For the puyz who can't convert don't have anywords as I myself Feeling very depressed and demotivated puyz. Missed to convert a good call of the season. Still, Lets hope for the best. Might some other good B-school awaiting me. :(

Cheerz again to all the call getters.
