I seek a little "Gyan" from you reg. Media Mgmt course at Iintl School of Buss. & Media (ISBM, Pune). My bro has got an admit to that course and that's only admit he's got this yr. He has a modest B.Com background. May I please request your view on followign two issues.
1.> Placement scene for media mgmt course
2.> availability of education loan (the course is NOT acredited by AICTE)

dear frnds,

before i write anything i wish to clarify that i am not a student of ny one of them...i have frnds studying in or graduated frm both the colleges so possibly i can share some inputs with u guys:
ISBN:
infractructure wise i wont say that they are very good..infact its a small bldg frm where they are operating currently..no hostels.....but i have heard that their new campus is ready and will b operational frm june...so infra no more an issue...(btw they have a domino pizza centre in the current bldg )
faculy - most of the faculties are always visiting ones & mostly industry experts..and therefore lest be assured that the faculty who is teaching u might also be taking sessions at some other college..and private b schools manage gud faculty believe me...
placements: i dont know bout stream wise but my frnd was in HR and she ended up with a decent package...cant say nything bout the marketing or finance stream...and as my frnd told that there were decent placements 4 other too..but yes summers will b a problem,may b u have to hunt 4 it on ur own....
events: its into organizing lot many events which enhance and improve the industry interface...

IIMM:
infra is very gud and also close to the IT park hinjenwadi(i have been to the campus and it was very well architectured nd managed)...so lets not discuss it...it will speak 4 itself when u guys see it...
faculty: again the above point
placement: i suppose that marketing is the best compared to other fields....people in marketing ended with decent salaries and if i m sure the highest was to a marketing profile....(students of IIMM need to confirm bout this and other placements...)
events never heard of ny big event being org by them...forgive me if i m wrong.....

so my point is that both are nearly the same....just talk to present students...visit their websites..see their placement and profile offered treands...and see which one of the two will offer u what u actually want...and join it....
and always remember one thing....its the hard and smart worker who always wins no matter whereever he is....
PS:if u have any queries plz post them here...i will clarify frm my frnds and get back to u guys......and do remember that i m not a student of any one of these....these are all my personal opinion and on what i have heard....

mods, this thread is too old..it starts with 2004 , when IIMM or ISBM were not well known.
Now that these colleges have grown, many new candidates coming here may get wrong perception seeing the first page of this thread.

Can this thread be locked, and a new thread be opened for Pune colleges, if necessary ...

now both the b schools has opened its own campus.. ibm in sus road pune.... and iimm that now rebranded as biimm has opened its new campus near chinchwar in pune.... i met with lot of guys who got avg pllacement of 3 lac.. from these campuses

hi, this is bhargav trivedi,, in ISB&M Nande Village, Pune.
this is a brand new campus, opened up 2 years back.
in 2009, i got into bimm and isbm. and i chose the later one.
straight and simple: isbm is the college which provides the platform to transcend to higher paradigm. it provides you tough situations, problems that you need to tackle out.

bimm: culture is too hostile. one can't get freedom to have his/her say or act.
need to follow too many rules and regulations, which looks like m studying in kindergarten.

still, in the end it depends on an individual that what he/she prefers. so best is..go to the clgs personally and have a check.
