Re: MICA PGPCME Calls out - 12-05-2007, 02:05 PM

I've also got a call.............. I have a feeling everybody who hasnt made it to MICA for their flagship course has been called, because of the very less number of people who'd take it up.

Its sounds interesting, but not as much as the flagship course. Dunno what to do, but am more inclined towards giving this a pass.....

Is there anybody who'd applied for MICA, didnt get through the flagship course and has NOT got this call either ?

Harshad

why not ? all MICA rejects would definitely atleast go through a thread which reads ' MICA .......... ' if they see it, just out of curiosity. i definitely would.

also there's a good chance that all of us MICA applicants would know many other applicants who havent made it, especially when MICA gives something like 2-3000 calls.

So its quite possible that somebody would know someone who had a call but was rejected for PGPCM and hasnt got a PCPCME call, if they havent given calls to everyone...

hey guys ..had mailed MICA regarding the course..

here is the mail i recd....

Dear Medha,

For the details about the programme, its structure and mechanism, we
advice you to go through the e brochure on www.mica-india.net. PGPCME is
a unique course, which targets executives to be groomed for senior level
positions in marketing and communications industry. Only select MICAT
candidates with suitable profile and outstanding performance in the test
have been offered the admission. Please note this programme also opens for
executives, who will be selected after considering relevant scores as well
as a rigerous personal interview. The class size would be 60, which would
include executives, leaders/managers of business houses in the same
sector.

Yes, as a part of the programme deliverables, you would be offered campus
placements.

Work Ex. though advisible, is not mendatory for the course.

Hope this clarifies most of your queries.

Strange! freshers are being called for rubbing shoulders with executives, leaders/managers of business houses ! And all of these together will be groomed for senior level positions in marketing and communications industry.

All I can think of right now is Oops Mica has done it again !

Exec and Freshers - 13-05-2007, 09:54 AM

Yea, it does not seem to make sense. I mean, if its for exec then why have freshers. And what's the deal with the outstanding scores, i mean, its clearly for people who missed in the flagship course. meaning rank 240 or later!

But then again, since its the first year of this course, they might be forced to take in freshers, cause working people may not want to risk it. So to get their 60 students they might have to do this.

Yea, MICA seems to have bit more than they can chew. I mean till last year there were about 90 odd students. Now - 120 in Flagship and 60 more in this. It doubles the number of student.

Lets see how this goes. Have mailed MICA on most of the issues. Hopefully they'll reply soon.

Bye for now.
